Well, this is a "rumor", so take it with a grain of salt. But I saw it posted on another board that LSU may talk to RC Slocum... I'm trying to get the person who posted it to give a link (not holding my breath for it though). I'm not saying there's any creditability to this, but I wanted rather to see if anyone else has seen this anywhere??
I heard his name mentioned on a local talk show. They claimed he contacted LSU about the job. My first and last response about Slocum is ... NOOOOOOOO!!! :nope:
Yeah, I wasn't all that impressed with the notion either. I have a decent feeling about Del Rio though... just a hunch.
We need a coach who understands the concept of the forward pass, he still thinks that is a trick play...
I have yet to get a warm and fuzzy feeling about any of the candidates mentioned thus far, but I do like a coach with some NFL experience. I believe that experience goes a long way in recruiting. And I do prefer a defensive minded coach. Del Rio fits that profile. He also knows a little bit about Louisiana, having played and coached in New Orleans ... another plus.
I had heard that this was the name our new chancellor threw out. Maybe Skip will pay a little lip service to his boss but I can't see him as a serious candidate.
