Alabama coach Nick Saban was asked about his contract after Thursday's practice, which remains unsigned after three months.

Both sides continue to hammer out issues in the contract, which was reportedly worth an estimated $32 million over eight years. While that's not unusual, an unsigned contract became a thorny issue with two coaches in the last five years.

In 2002, then Alabama coach Dennis Franchione did not sign his renegotiated contract, then flew to College Station to become the new head coach at Texas A&M. Some analysts feel there were issues with the new contract while others believe he never planned to sign the new contract.

Just five months later, new coach Mike Price was fired for off-the-field conduct and had never signed his contract, leaving him with little to bargain with. Eight days later, Mike Shula was hired as Alabama's head coach and officials presented a signed contract almost immediately.

Saban, however, doesn't seem concerned with the time that has elapsed without a contract.

"I'm not concerned about that," he said. "It's not a concern of mine right now. We're in spring practice, we're worried about spring ball. There's no issues relative to it. These things just take a little time sometimes."

He did the same thing here, on his last contract. Lawyers hammering out fine points, I suspect.

I think we are sticking to slightly less than 32K.

What percentage of the people there today do you think buy tickets once the season starts?

Everything is up. Enrollment, waiting list for Tide Pride, you name it.

As I've tried to say, it's an investment with the new regime...it is being proven today.

I'm hoping we'll see a mill or so donated to the Enterprise community.

    Wild, isn't it? Over 92K there...gates shut in the 2nd qtr. I'm guessing it's around 95....
