Maybe now you will understand why LSU loses games they should win and learn alittle about coaching. http://www.thenewsstar.com/sports/html/95ECFF90-A239-485B-A779-56B9C5B84122.shtml
Thanks for that article. I hope lots of people read it. I'm glad we have a head coach who learned from the best how important it is to look at the big picture and "keep your eyes on the prize" at the end of the season rather than isolated games here or there. GEAUX TIGERS!!!
Funny thing about this article this is not the first time its been written. When Skip was coach they wrote the same thing but I guess some just don't understand or want to move forward. Smoke Laval is one of the best coaches in the country and we are lucky that he came back to LSU. Who in the World would you guys pick to coach at LSU over Smoke thats what I would like to know.
Good article, thats an interesting philosophy,One that I've never thought of. I don't think I'd have the guts to do that, personally because I would throw my 1st pitcher out there if available versus my 5th in a must win situation.
This is what I was talking about quote: Everyone remembers LSU's great doubleheader sweep of No. 1 Texas A&M at Texas A&M in 1989 to reach the College World Series. After going through the loser's bracket, Bertman still had two of his best pitchers left - Ben McDonald and Curtis Leskanic. But what people forget is how Bertman got to the last day. Because he threw a virtually unknown, little-used freshman named Chad Ogea in LSU's elimination game the morning before against Nevada-Las Vegas.
