..we only fell one spot in the polls  Seriously, I support the staff, they clearly know what football means and how to play it, and I will support them all year, but I said after game 1 that they had to show improvement. They really didn't show any improvement over game 1. The defense still missed assignments and looked confused, even in the first half, but especially in the 2nd half. That's worrysome. The players didn't execute, Miles is right, but it's the coaches job to get them in shape to execute - and they had two solid weeks to get those execution bugs worked out. I think this is a good staff, Dunbar is obviously a good coach, even though the play of the DL doesn't reflect it. I'm hoping the rest of the play is in the same vein : not reflective of how good we're going to be. I supported Pelini from the get go because I bought into the 'simplified' scheme and increased effort philosophy - but the players on D look confused, even after two weeks of practice and game film to look at. That's unacceptable really, you gotta either teach them what you want and make sure they know it, or run what they know and make sure know it. We'll beat MSU and Vandy, Cutler will pass for some yards on us, but we'll beat him up and get a INT and likely a fumble. If we do our jobs, we'll still be in the top 5 in two weeks.
You're a fool, they know football, you won't even agree to that? You're irrelevent if you won't acknowledge they know football.
They may know football, but the question is if they know it well enough to be top-tier coaches in the SEC.
Valid question, too early to tell after 1 SEC game, but the result so far are unimpressive and discouraging.
I have some great news from all this. Les Miles pushed his hat down to normal level and wore a normal headset. Now if we can get Bo Pelini to push the bill of his had down. He looks like Gomer Pyle with his hat like that. It's like the bill points straight up.
