Suck a root punk!!!!!!!!!! I wasn't complaining I just stated that I would rather see the final nail put in the coffin before you take the foot off their neck. I am not anti Smoke and if you could read you would already know that. Just like every other arm chair QB here, YOU INCLUDED Mr know it all, I have an opinion and am here to both express it and talk LSU sports with other LSU fans. Maybe you think anyone that disagrees with you shouldn't have an opinion but we don't all worship you here. Maybe you can start your own board where only you can post an opinion and everyone else can only post "great post JSracingBBF". However that is not the case here so grow up and get over it. :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

Nobody will question CNS next year.

I don't think anyone will scream for CNSs head next year if we finish 3d in the SEC, because he's proven himself already by winning the NC.

Smoke is given less margin for error this year, because expectations were so high.

Smoke has done everything but win the NC. He's only in his third year.

I understand we expect to win the baseball title every year, but the question is ... would anyone actually want to fire a coach who regularly gets us to Omaha and don't win it?

I find it odd that Smoke gets as much criticism as Brady...

I don't find it odd. Amusing, at times. Frustrating at others. It's the football NC. It's the baseball NCs. It happened after the 1958 season and it's happening again. We've been to the mountaintop and nothing else will do (for some). Skip won 5 NCs in 10 years and now if we don't win one every 2 or 3 years some think something must be wrong. Well, what's wrong is that everyone else in the SEC and around the country has gotten better. When So Cal and UT were winning all those baseball NCs, their only competition was each other. The only team north of the Mason Dixon line that was worth a damn was the Maine Black Bears. LSU plays the 6th seed to start the SEC tournament. That would be Florida who is within 2 games of being outright champion. Whoever has to face Vandy (VANDY?) is going up against the best pitcher in the league. How would you like to start out the tourney with South Carolina? We will likely host a regional. Guess who will be there? Too Lame. They give us fits every time we play them. Why? Because THEY ARE A GOOD TEAM? If we lose, it's not because our coach is bad. It's because the other team is very good and they want to win too. Fire Smoke? And get who? Bianco? I believe we just showed him that he's still playing 2nd fiddle to the LSU program. Let's go after a coach who is a proven winner? Yeah. Let's put him into the SEC and see what happens. And, by the way. Smoke IS a proven winner. It's just that to some people you have to win it all or there's a problem. And that is just not fair.

I agree with much of what you said, but the criticism of Smoke started early ... right after we were dominated by Rice in the SR in his first season. I think some of that was due to Jim Wells not being hired ... he seemed to be the fans choice. Wells has fallen on hard time since then and now Bianco is the talk of the town.

It would have been interesting to see how well Skip would have done with the SR format. In his limited chances, he only won 1 out of 3 SR ... fortunately, that 1 turned into a NC. I think the SR format, along with much better competition, will prevent another school from going on a run like we had in the 90s!

You can't work off rust in practice. As Sandy Koufax (a guy who knows a little bit about pitching) says: "Pitching does not become an act of violence until you are pitching to a live hitter in a real game."

    Crow served with humble pie

OK,OK, I posted the Smoke MUST Go thread Friday night. I"ve avoided it all year, and gave in Friday night when we lost. I've learned my lesson, always wait 24 hours after a game to post something, that way I can cool off. I still believe we've underachieved this year, however. Of course, the Tigers could change that by making a run at and in Omaha.
