The media fascination with Florida... A qb, while talented, running an offense made for a completely different style of qb... A runningback corps so bad that their head coach threatened to go with no RBs at all... A WR corps that lost its best receiver... and a Defensive Backfield that lost 3 starters... I really dont get it...
State of Florida: 14 million people + advertising $$ = media love California (USC): 30 million people + advertising $$ = media love need I go on?
they keep on saying that urban is so good in his second season with his past programs but I am sorry...what conferences were bowling green and utah in??? Not the sec....that offense is just simply not gonna work in this conference.
I don't mean to rain on the party, but they also said the same about a former UF coach's offense... I don't think UF will be too good this year, but don't just completely write them off
I agree with clair on this one. I'm not dismissing Urban's second year successes just because they came in a smaller conference. It's not like he imported his offensive players from the SEC. They were all on an equal footing. He may not succeed to the same degree at UF, but I'd be willing to bet that LSU (or whoever cheats us out of the West title ) will be meeting up with UF in the SEC Title game next year, if not this year.
Hawker45 is spot on. Get the population interested. Big build up = cha ching. It is about ratings and subscriptions. I would have thought that you guys know that by now. Why do you think there are no playoffs? It is not because the fans do not want it. It is only because a "George Mason" could get in there and people would lose money.
Black Jack, the pict on you sig is awesome. I am glad I am a Tiger fan not some dude trying to fight em of w/a stick.
LOL.... in Florida I subtracted the folks on life support. In California... o.k., I'll get back to you, as I should have subtracted more!:hihi:
