It seems to be a very minor issue. The article stated that the investigation by LSU had been turned over to the NCAA last August. What, if any, punishment will the NCAA hand down?
Hopefully nothing after we got the death penalty in basketball we're just now finally gettin completly off that.
Looks like a bunch of lawyers are doing everything they can to inflate the number of hours they can bill their clients.
Academic mentors and tutors writing and typing papers for football players fails in comparison to paying $200K for a player. An academic employee arranging for a football prospect to receive five hours of free tutoring and a place to study could be a sticking point with them though. A year is a long time for the NCAA to sit on this. I guess they've been too busy with Bama's mess. You're right Bengal, it's all about the lawyers wanting money. They have to be the lowest profession on earth.
If something does come of it and Tenn gets off the hook for the same thing, it will just prove how inconsistent the ncaa is.
Weezie, LSU basketball did not get the death penalty. Just probation and scholarhip losses. This lawsuit has nothing to do with the LSU invesigation of the NCAA. Its a civil suit. This shyster lawyer has made a living the last several years by representing every woman fired by LSU, usually alleging gender bias. This time she's also alleging retaliation by the LSU AD because, guess what? It gets her case more attention and increases her chances of a settlement to make her go away. Stupid move for the two young kinesiology instructors to let a lawyer talk them into this. What athletic program is going to hire them now, and risk a lawsuit if they have to let them go?
