Is the spread option a viable offense in the SEC? So far, two of the better offenses in the SEC (LSU & Bama) have had no problem shutting it down. I know that Chris Leak is not an option QB but he ain't chopped liver either. Take away our turnovers and this would have been a route (we also dropped at least three interceptions). :yelwink2:

A fast OL, a QB like Shockley or RP, a back with the speed of JV... it could be interesting.

I think it could be better than what Florida is now... Florida lacks a strong Oline, a truley mobile QB, multiple playmaker WRs & a solid RB. But then again, if they were to have all of that it wouldn't matter what kind of offense they had.

I don't see it as a viable offense unless you have a Michael Vick caliber qb and a very strong supporting cast.

It's a shame what Meyer is doing to the Florida offense if you look at it from the perspective of the future of the Chris Leak, etc. QB of the year last year to damn near atrocious this year.

I think it can be done with a good enough QB

I love that we won, but it was clear as day that Leak was hurt... so we caught a break!

We still made him look like a joke though

We all knew that what works in the WAC won't necessarily work in the SEC. Take away our stupid mistakes and it's 35 or 42 to zip.

With the proper qb it could work well.. the main problem with the spread option is that its no longer an oddity.. everyone is running it a little bit... and the way LSU dominated it today... LSU is just that damn good! We have the best set of athletes in the country (better than USC in my opinion)...
