    Gold 38 - Purple 10

Nice crowd - lots of kids. Estimate 25k.

Colder than I thought, so the gift shop made $

Offense - Lee and Hatch looked pretty good. No ints ferom these two. Receivers look good. Byrd stood out. Murphy was a stud. Williams was very quiet - wonder if he's full speed. Ridley looked good for Purple. First team oLine started slower than Purple DL (which is VERY good), but picked up.

Defense. Both squads looked good. First team DBs were solid (Taylor, Eugene, McCray). Plus Brooks. Kelvin Sheppard looked good. Theriot looked good for a kid a few months out of high school.

Kickers looked OK. Punting was putrid.

No sign of RP that I could see. Press box maybe?

    More later.

There was no need for them to shove everyone in the endzone. The three TDs in the first half went to the south EZ so I could barely see them.

Where was Charles Scott? Didn't see him at all.

How bad was the punting? Losing Fisher and his 4.5 minute hang time leaves a huge void.

One punt netted 14 yards, I forget the other abysmal punt, I think around 25 yards.

Thats weak. We can't be giving field position away like that. I say put the punters on two-a-days immediately.

Scott in sweats - foot injury I think.

Let's just say that the punting job is completely up for grabs. I choose to believe they all coincidentally had a bad day. Because the alternative is scary.

Yet they told my son they had enough punters. Dalphrey is good, if he can stay eligible. The others are placekickers by trade, punters by proxy. Son kicked in spring game last year, got cut right before the (championship) season. Went back a few weeks ago, was told they had enough kickers. Hey maybe Ryan Anders can dress out and get another ring.

    /end bitter father's rant
