    It's almost time.

    Positions of concern on defense

Right End - Oliver & Merrill with Kirston Pittman in there is solid
Right Tackle - Williams & Dorsey with Marlon Favorite is solid

Left Tackle - Wroten, Brandon Washington, Alexander & Stewart is solid

Left End - Who gets the nod here (since West is gone)?
Is it Manuel, Willis, Jarrod Carter or Tim Washington or Tyson Jackson.
I think Washington will see some PT this fall with Manuel & Willis getting most

Outside LB is super solid with Vaughn, Highsmith, Kuale & Hollis
Middle LB is concern with Johnson & Maxwell & Sanders looking to be heir apparents. I wouldn't be surprised to see an OLB shifted & placed here. Sanders needs to produce.

Cornerback talent will be a little light but developing with Prude, Stevenson, Chevis Jackson, Daniel Francis, Keron Gordon, Sam Joseph, Nick Child & Jeffery Jack.
Safeties Landry & Daniels are solid but with little or no back up if injuries hit.

Teams are going to test LSU's secondary early (ASU, Tennessee) in 2005. We need to develop quickly & stay healthy (above all else)

It'll be interesting to see what the new DC does with this defensive talent when so many will test it through the air. Can he get the pressure he needs up front to help this young secondary from getting toasted early in 05

Offensive Line & TE - solid senior line with sound backups. Arnold & Livings must produce & Big Herman is ready to give someone some splinters.
    RB - loaded
WR - loaded waiting on delivery
QB - This is THE STORY for Spring 2005 (Flynn or Russell) & worthy of a poll

Who do you think will emerge at QB at the top of the depth chart, if anyone, in Spring?

FWIW, I'm pretty sure Merrill has left the team and is currently enrolled in a JC somewhere.

I've heard talk of Kuale being moved to the middle.

You're right. Sean Merrill is in a So. Mississippi JUCO back home right now. He's a loss for LSU. Just couldn't make the grades.

Add one Chase Pittman in there instead of Merrill. He's listed at 6'4 & 258 in the Spring roster but is closer to 275.

The School site Spring Roster at lsu sports dot net.

Shocked me to see the following listed as "SQ" or Squad Team
    1. Amp Hill
    6. Mario Stevenson
    16. Craig Steltz
    35. Luke Sanders
    36. Pat Fisher
    50. Jarrod Carter
    57. Alonzo Manuel
    69. Garrett Wibel
    77. Peter Dyakowski
    78. Paris Hodges
    81. Mit Cole
    96. Carnell Stewart

This list looks new & updated. Very odd indeed that these scholarship players are listed as Squad when half of them were expected to see serious PT this year.

I'm pretty sure they're just listing the players experience. Definately some of them are going to make an impact this year!
