From the time that OSU had put up the 10 points, until the LSU Tigers rattled off 38 of the next 45 points of the game: LSU - 340 yards OSU - 170 yards LSU 38, OSU 7 In what amounted to 3 quarters of play. OSU's drive from the 11 for their only score/TD after the 10 pt lead took 6 plays. Sheer dominance. Score does no justice.
When we were quickly down 0-10, I stood up, pumped my fist and said we gottem right where we want 'em. The people watching the game with me looked at me dumbfounded and I immediately said that's our lucky number- we were down 10 at half to AU and UF. I'd said the same thing to my sister at half for the AU game so I had to- Okie's mojo chit. :hihi: Have to say though, when I saw Wells' speed and that seam he ran through, I was a little concerned. Not for long though. You're right isl, we dominated after settling in following spotting them 10. Blocked FG was huge- and they talk about Beamer ball?
I predicted we would hold Beanie Wells to under 150 yards rushing...he ran for 146. You take out that 65 yarder and he would have only had 81 yards.
My analysis was that LSU would stifle Wells and force them into too many 2nd and 3rd and longs, forcing Boeckman to make the plays, in which I thought he would fold under the pressure and throw 2-3 picks that would give LSU a short field to score. He did just that. Wells had 2 long runs of 65 and one for about 25-30. Other than that, I think he ran 18 carries for 58 yards. Way too many long yardage 2nds and 3rds. Wells is a damn fine back, I must say.
