Guy looks like a solid player.

Ridley stands 6-foot-0 and is 210 lbs. He's clocked at 4.5 in the forty. Guy NEVER left the field last year totalling 2,200 all-purpose yards (over 1,800 rushing) and 22 TD's at Trinity Episcopal in Miss. As a LB, he totalled 85 tackles.

He originally verballed to Ole Miss, but changed to LSU because LSU is "his life-long dream."

In the rivals article, Ridley also said that "Coach O wasn't too happy" (that Ridley went to LSU's Junior day).

Ridley said that LSU is also only an hour and something away from home, while Ole Miss was closer to 4 hours (giving his mom an easier drive to watch him).

From a prior article, Miles said that he wanted to recruit Ridley as a RB. Not a bad move considering that what we've learned with AB and JV is that in the blink of an eye, you can go from a position of strength and depth, to injured and thin. But, even if after he gets on campus and the staff feel he can get on the field faster at LB, then he does have that capability.

I like this guy the more I read about him! WELCOME TO LSU, STEVAN!!

You gotta love a kid that is willing to tell O to go to hell.

With the way Coach O recruits though you can bet he will pressure the family.

It is early yet and i think we all have learned that it is great to have commits now but it is signing day that really matters.

Well, sounds to me that his family is "pressured" enough. The article said that his mom works at two different hospitals....and I'm sure she'd MUCH rather drive only an hour and a half as opposed to 4 to watch her son play.

In terms of keeping a verbal commitment this early...while the past has shown that you can NEVER be too sure--not even for those considered "locks"--I think the fact that LSU has been "his dream" for a long time, coupled with the fact that he alluded to not really liking Coach O's reaction towards him attending LSU Junior day, I think he's about as reliable of a commitment as there is. ...just my opinion of course...

you never know what kind of a commitment a kid is giving.. it may list on rivals that a guy has given a verbal, but in this kids case with Ole Miss, he may have said "yeah, ill commit, for now", and that counts as a verbal... they guy says he has grown up loving LSU, so he should be pretty solid with LSU..

Anyone know how many stars this kid projects to have?

Was was the Natchez Democrat Metro PLayer of the Year last season...so I would just guess that he's probably looking somewhere along the lines as a solid 3, but it would appear that a 4-star is within reach.

Just reading the few articles about Ridley, and judging from his size/speed, he appears to be a more versatile Charles Scott (in terms of his pass catching).

I know TigerNtz is a former teammate of his. Maybe he could give us his insight. I saw Ridley play once and he was pretty impressive. I would say about 3* quality, but with a lot of potential.

Yeah... I played football with Ridley in high school...Trinity Episcopal.
I talked to him on the phone for about an hour saturday night about him committing to LSU... and he is a definite for LSU. His older brother played for Delta State... Chad Ridley(Stevan is much bigger and stronger and more dedicated).

Stevan is extremely versatile, playing EVERY position throughout high school. He played on the varsity as an eighth grader.

He only committed to Ole Miss first because he was caught in the moment... His dream has been to play at LSU.

He will do great things for LSU once here!
