Here's the story, from today's edition: You think Saban had it good in Baton Rouge? If there's a top five of catered to college coaches, Stoops is in it, yet even he has that itch that, some day, he may want to scratch. Interesting that he tosses out the "well, you never know" comment a few days before a national title game. Why not just deflect the question like he has many times in the past?
Stoops has it made. If he would stay at OU he would solidify his place as one of the top college coaches/programs of all time. By the way, anyone know why the University of Oklahoma is called OU and not UO? just curious
I use to like the guy but that little post game interview they had with him after the sugar bowl last year when he didnt officially admit to losing to a good team kinda chapped my ass a little and I kinda wish he would leave....
He's a Saban wannabe. That's why he didn't deflect the question as he has in the past. Remember Saban wanting a "dollar more" than Stoops? He saw God last January in the Superdome. His name is Nick Saban. bbbbbbbbwwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
My impression is that Stoops wants a raise, this is the perfect way to get it. I think he's a terriffic College coach but somehow can't visualize him in the Pro's. It's also an ego thing. Yeah Pro team XYZ wants me.
Only with regard to career management. He didn't wannabe paid a dollar less than Saban. He probably didn't wannabe following Saban's trail to the NFL. But he will.
