    and defend your position.

why am I a bad fan, or a fairweather fan?

when I say, "Les Miles hasn't proven he's a coach capable of leading LSU in the right direction" why do people call me a bad fan?

    A) lsu played VERY uninspired football in that game.
    B) penalties and crucial mistakes killed in the game.
    1) the blocked punt- the man came off the gunner
    a) the gunner never moved in to block, AND the man on the end of the line blocked the outside rusher rather than the inside rusher. Shouldn't the gunner be prepared for that situation? after all, the defense IS allowed to move before the snap.
    2) holding on the long td... sure, it happens when the qb scrambles... but it shouldnt happen in the 12th game of the season in the seccg.
    3) Blown coverage on the second touchdown pass... was that guy being covered? These guys have been playing cover 2 and 3 and straight man coverage for ten years now... They know those schemes... whatever they were doing was different from your basic schemes... and our defense didnt know it.
    C) just a bad strategy in general
    1) did anyone see a spy on shockley the whole game? considering he's the most mobile qb in the sec... his running ability should probably have been considered in preparing for the game.
    2) someone should teach the ends to contain...
    3) those were some complex blitz packages huh?

So, what is it about les miles' performance this year that leads the "good fans" to believe that he's going to be a good coach? Why do you think the future of LSU coaching looks so bright.

Stop blaming jimbo. Saban was a defensive minded coach. Jimbo had a lot more control over the offense in the past years than he had this year... look at the difference in play calling and it's apparent.

I want reasons why you think he's a good coach, and please refrain from just saying, "you're an idiot" or, "you're a bad fan" because name-callling is a lot less intelligent than disaproving of a coach.

I have seen no change in the play calling from last year to this year....but that is Miles fault I guess.

    he sucks..no need to argue.

Hire Stoops...Hire Davis...anyone but Miles. 10-2 is no good!!!!!!! get the stake ready!!!!!!

No such thing as a bad fan. The only fans I hate are those who during a game give you the old "they suck" or "this game is over" thing then when the team comes back they get all fired up like they never said crappy stuff about them. Kinda like the guy on Major League 2. But, fans who voice displeasure are not bad fans.

We have some MAJOR problems. I just am not ready to trash a first year coach that just went 10-2 and got us to the SECCG. If it looks the same next year, then it might be time to start looking at the coach a little closer.

Miles took over a program with enormous expectations & hype surrounding players that had never produced. He managed to win the SEC West & go 10-1 during the regular season, including 4 (5) wins over ranked opponents.

We looked sloppy all year. Execution was severely lacking. Penalties, turnovers, & dropped passes kept this from being a very good, may I even say great, football team.

    What makes me optimistic?

Miles has never been known to lead a sloppy program. Lacking execution was never a problem associated with him being a head coach.

So, I blame it on a coaching transition thru 2 hurricanes & playing for 10 weeks straight. Coaching might be to blame, but I think there are too many other possible reasons to say that coaching is definitely the problem.

I question calls the coaches make. I question the lack of progress our players have made. I have no problem with people voicing opinions that are constructive criticism. I don't like "coach bashing" and fans rooting against the coaches & not wanting them to succeed.

This part seems exceedingly reasonable to me, and is probably the thought echoed by most of us here. Problem is the polarization, where people are spitting venom unreasonably.

i don't think its really that there are bad fans its just that fans are calling for a coaches head in only his first year, and a 10-2 record. look at phillip fulmer (who has the highest win percentage of any active coach) his group was ranked 3rd in the nation in the preseason and ended up with a losing record, and not going to a bowl game. just be glad you're not a tennessee fan
