This is old news. It's time to move on. Saban belongs to our past. Let the Dolphin fans read these cute articles about the Saban Legend and enjoy . . . we are going to miss him, but . . . we've got to move on. Please . . . no more articles about Saban. Wish him luck in Miami, and let's move on.
Move on? From what? I happened to find the article very interesting and informative. There are many things in that article about Saban's past that I did not know and I am sure many people here on this forum do not know. it may be "old news" to you, but it is certainly not old news to me.
I read an article once where George Perles said his biggest mistake was not leaving Michigan State for the Green Bay Packers after the 1987 season. Perles was the one who gave Nick his first big chance and he's telling Nick to go the NFL. I doubt if any of Nick's peers from the NFL are telling him to stay in College. The thing is that the NFL is the ultimate in the coaching profession. If you want to be known as a great football coach it's the NFL. Lombardi, Paul Brown, Tom Landry, and Bill Bellicheck are considered the greatest coaches of football. Paul Brown is most likely the greatest football coach of all time. Everthing modern in the NFL can be traced back to him. You don't get respect from the highest peers beating Ole Miss, Florida, or Western Illinois it's doing it in the NFL. Paul Bear Bryant was a good coach, but if you ask NFL coaches I doubt he makes the top ten of all time football coaches at any level If you took 100 high school coaches and asked them if they wanted to discuss football coaching with Steve Spurrier or Steve Maruicci, Mariucci would win. Nick knows Mariucci and I bet the Mooch is telling him that in football coaching it's the NFL.
I think everyone is just getting tired of this and just want some resolution to the situation. Most people here are hardcore fans and it seems like this is dragging on so frustration is starting to set in. We just want an answer because it's a lot more fun focusing on the game than it is trying to figure out if Nick is staying.
