Man I was surprised to hear so many people on the radio today in Houston calling the BCS a joke and the Tigers a joke to be in with 2 loses. We have lots of Louisiana folks here in Katy and surrounding areas so I know it wasn't them but I never put anything past some of these longhorns since they were not considered for a shot at the title and most of them think they are the rightful keepers of the national championship every year. This city is infused with so many transplant people you never know who its coming from but man I heard it from people at work today as well as on the talk shows. I find it funny how they all question the body of work LSU put in this year and even with 2 loses as one of the sports show host said. You have to look at who they played and how many highly ranked teams they beat. Course according to the callers and my coworkers it was all the same. The SEC is just overrated. I explained to my coworkers that every team LSU faced came with their A game as LSU was considered their National Title Game. Didn't do any good though. Just still surprised at the attitude from so many people I have talked to. Guess next time Texas or A&M is in a high bowl game and we are not I can tell them to stick it. Nah I have a bit more class than that. B
Until some sort of a playoff system is implemented the current BCS structure will almost always result in controvery. Remind them to watch the night of January 7th. We'll be playing for the :crystal: and everybody else's season will be over.
We have the argument.. the schedule was legit.. and I don't know about you guys.. but i'm sold on the fact that "the drive" against UF got us into the NC. It gave us alot of publicity. :milesmic: Oh, and those fake field goals/punt. That's what people see. Lesticles. That's how we got where we are. :wave:
I live in Houston and have a lot of Longhorn friends. I love the to death, but jealousy and retardation make for an ugly face.
what two loss team did they offer as an alternative??? one with a better resume'??? or maybe they wanted hawaii :dis: sour grapes for their aggies and horns who don't get to play for one of these:crystal: also a little scared we'll set up recruiting shop in their neck of the woods.
Now you guys know what it's like to be us (Buckeyes). It seems at time that we're the most hated college football program in the nation. Best of luck to your team (but not too much). I'm looking forward to a great game and a fun month leading up to the game.
Most of this is people who 1: Are fans of "other" schools 2: freakin idiots that don't have the slightest idea about CFB But the BCS will always be a point of contention until something better comes along, hence, this is the fallout. Besides, I really don't give a ratz azzz what other people think about us. If they don't like our Tigers, too F-in bad. This National Championship will be much more scrutinized than the one in '03(Regardless of who wins it). There just weren't any teams who consistently dominated and set themselves apart this year and the polls (Top Ten) changed so much each week. I don't believe any question LSU's ability/talent so much as our loss in our last regular season game to an unranked team. The win over UT helped us but also a close game didn't help our argument. In our defense, we beat 4 teams who are currently ranked in the Top 25. (I don't care who was ranked where when we played them, it's irrelevant- their ranking at the end of the season means more). Furthermore, one of our two trip OT's was to a 5th team now ranked in the Top 25.
Well the thing that eats me the most is some of these guys and girls that are giving me crap about LSU being given a gimmie and don't deserve it attitude are the same you know whats that I gave support and congrats to when Texas was going for the trophy against USC. Now they are just bitter. I work with both Longhorn and A&M folks and at least the A&M crew are congratulating us where as the body of Longhorn fans I work with are shall I say a sad, delusional bunch. Not all but as of today most of them. As I told one of my coworkers. Texas had there shot and they choked against A&M. Now lets just take care of business against OSU and then I can do the talking.
