helmet slamming explanation not a slam dunk "Upon further review, Dooley wouldn’t admit nor deny that one of the clips he sent to the SEC office for extensive analysis was footage of LSU center T-Bob Hebert slamming his helmet in frustration while players fell on what was originally believed to be Saturday’s game-ending fumble." http://www.govolsxtra.com/news/2010/oct/04/helmet-explanation-not-slam-dunk/?partner=RSS
I've looked at it many times and I think we got away with one. I'm not sweating it though, there are enough non-calls that go against us. If I was Dooley I would be more upset about the PI call in the endzone. Not sure that was a catchable ball.
Yep. And to be honest, Hebert's helmet wasn't off until the ball was covered...the clock was at zero...so technically, the game was over. That's why all the Tennessee players were celebrating by yanking THEIR helmets off and the bench storming the field.
I know I sound bias but I feel the SEC Officials did the right thing at the end of the game....but I do understand the heartbreak on the other side...
Watch the replay, this pic is deceiving. The players with their helmet off ran on the field from the sideline. Why twist the facts.....#21 is a receiver.
if T-bBob being on thefield with his helmet off is illegal, then it is also illegal for the UT players to be on the field with their helmets off. oh, and them guys make it 15 players on the field instead of only 13.
Doesn't matter. By that point "game is over". The rules don't apply to them, why would they apply to LSU only?
