I have been flipping through the stations over and over this morning all i see from these stations is stories about the people being "ignored" all over the city and about the rampant looting. They actually interviewed a guy last night that said "sporadic looting" and immediately after at the bottom of the screen it says "rampant looting"... not correct me if i' m wrong, but i believe those are two completely different phrases.
Even when they showed baton rouge, all they talk about is how the mayor said he doesnt want anymore people in baton rouge, when he actually said that we dont have room for more people and that we dont want anymore until we can make room.
They also showed a report that there were people on rooftops in one area and the only boat that was helping them was the one that the reporter was using. He was saying that there were no boat anywhere helping people and that they were just being abandoned. I guess there isnt hundreds of privately owned boats and their owners down there helping.. must be our imagination!
Start calling these stations, writing in, emailing... they are making us look like evil bastards to the rest of the world.

I have been noticing that too. Especially today. It also looks to me like they are reporting a lot of rumor as fact. (Given the differing accounts give in press briefings, and what is being reported by the talking heads.)

I am really sad that the only view people are getting of Lousiasana is the bad, none of the good. I am afraid that kind of crap will make people wonder why the *** they should give money to help in this disaster.

Blanco pretty much just told the media to shut the hell up. The media is making erroneous reports about shootings in the Superdome when no weapons were allowed into the Superdome - it simply wasn't true. The media can really hamper things these days....

I just watched CNN and I heard a familiar voice. They were interviewing my uncle He is Lt Gen Russel Honore and he is the one who is in charge of the all the military proceedings. So I feel better knowing that he is on the job

While I hate what I'm seeing in the national media, they are exposing another failure by our gov't to quickly respond to a disaster.

It is mindboggling how members of the national media can get to the 20,000 people stranded at the convention center, but our gov't can't get to them.

It's been 3 days after the hurricane ... and we are just now talking about sending in more troops and help.

This is a total failure thus far by the federal, state and local governments. I can only hope they get their act together really soon.

The media has never been accused of letting the facts get in the way of a good story. :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis:
