(Franklin Parish HS) I've seen due to the fact that I have membership to Baseball America that LSU recruiting class has three players coming out of high school with top 100 honors... They are Ryan Adams INF #17 Stephen King INF #49 Tony Sedlmeyer P #93 I'm wondering how impressive this class is as we need OF and starting P if Olvey and Dirks leave. Does anyone know any background on these players... Just post comments of what you think and keep it clean:yelwink2: Adam
The only one I really know anything about is Shane Ardoin. He went to my old high school. He's a left-handed pitcher who throws in the upper 80's with nasty stuff. After a year or two on the weight program he could be in the low 90's. He hits very well (not a whole lot of power) and is a good defensive center fielder. He was offered by ULL and most of the SEC schools. Before LSU offered, I think it was between UL and Ole Miss. Nice prospect.
I'm glad to see we have Stephen King on the roster. If it's a rough year he can keep the guys' spirits up with some good horror stories.:thumb:
yea I got some more candy for yall.... This is for 2006 high school class Ryan Adams-First Team All-American Stephen King-Third Team All-American I really hope Ryan keeps his commit and stays here at LSU This was written by a professional scout INFIELD Organizations targeting high school infielders in the early rounds of the draft in recent years have been rewarded. Baseball America's Top 100 Prospects (See Pages 10-18) are littered with both corner and middle infielders that were not without their faults as preps, but have developed steadily since signing. Few scouts have proclaimed this year's class of infielders as the next crop of Brandon Woods or Ian Stewarts, but players such as Ryan Adams, Marcus Lemon, Chris Marrero, and third-teamers such as Ryan Jackson (Florida Christian, Miami) and Stephen King (Winter Park, Fla., HS) possess several above-average tools and enough present ability to project similar success.
I'm also wondering if by some chance that Miles get Jared Mitchell to stay and play football at LSU(It is a very high chance that he will go in Baseball Draft) but if he stays is there a chance that he would play baseball just as Jackson did. If so Holy Cow because he is in the top 50 in the nation coming out of high school, and could be our 3rd outfielder!
I think someone from TigerRag asked him... Is playing baseball on the college level in your plans? "Most definitely." So if Smoke hasn't said a word to Mitchell then he is a freaking dumb mother trucker.
I play with Ryan Schimpf, and have played against Adams. Both are great players. Schimpf is a very disciplined hitter, who rarely chases a ball out of the zone. I think in our 6 distrct game so far, he has 3 K's. He hits the ball opposite field very well, and when he gets a pitch to pull, he mashes it. As for Adams. He's amazing. Not perfect, I think a few years of college ball would be great for him. He has the fastest hands I've ever seen in a HS baseball player though. He pulls balls that jam 99.9% of the other players. Solid defensively as well. I hope he comes to the Tigers, but it's hard to get letters from The Boss and tell him no, so we'll see what happens with him.
