1. .... thought I'd "donate" this from our forum. It's based on a discussion of whether the Hawkeyes should get with the national trend of option football and quarterbacks who can run. On that premise, the numbers below can be a surprise... as only five teams in the top 25 have QB's with more than 100 carries.
    VaTech and USC did not have QB's that started at least 75% of their games, so their numbers are void (according to NCAA.org).

  2. yeah, but i also think there's a difference btwn a running qb and a mobile qb. i would see guys like flynn as mobile and able to be used in the spread while tebow, white, juice, and dixon may be considered more runners that being mobile.

    i guess my point is while there may not be a trend for more runners, mobility definitely is on the rise as a need for qb's.
  3. The spread is pretty popular now and teams are having trouble defending it, so I'd seriously consider at least parts of it. Having a running qb really is tough on a defense if he can throw as well. I prefer mobile qbs.
