I for one would not mind seeing an investigation done on the referee that was looking dead at the DOUBLE HEAD SLAP that caused Florida to lose this game. Check his bank account.....please. Might have a check deposited from Fat F*ck Fulmer.
Florida running down the clock.. At the end of the play, Tennessee CB hits Florida WR in the face. Florida WR slaps him back, referee throws flag stopping the clock. Ref is watching the entire scene, including first slap taken by Tenn CB. Tennessee takes the punt and drives down to kick a game-winning 50 yard field goal, after same kicker misses PAT to tie the game earlier.
A Tennessee defender slapped a Florida WR in the face after a play, then the Florida player hit him back and was called for the penalty. Thing is, the ref was right there watching them both, saw the first slap and did not call it, then immediately called the second slap. it was really bad.
Referee looking dead straight ahead at a Tennessee player head slapping a Florida player near the sidelines after the play was dead. Florida player head slaps him right back. Referee saw both players do it. Calls personal foul ONLY on Florida player....costs them 15 valuable yards on the field, not to mention blowing the whistle dead with 50 or so seconds to go. Had they not blown the whistle, which is what should have happened, the clock runs down to about 10 seconds by the time Tennessee gets the ball and no chance at the game winning FG.
vol slapped a gator and gator slapped back and the ref was looking right at it the whole time and called a pf on UF. UT drives down and kicks a winning 50 yard FG. The kicked who kicked it had missed the x-point that would have tied it up at 28 earleir.
Florida is up 1 with 55 seconds left, trying to run out the clock. Third down play is run, clock is ticking. Away from the action a Tenessee player punches a Florida player in the helmet. Florida player hits the Tennessee player back. Referee throws flag at the Florida player, stopping the clock and pushing the punt back 15 yards. Tenessee gets the ball and makes the FG to win. Both helmet pushes occured directly in front of the ref, but only the FLorida player was called. They got screwed worse than us today.
I can guarantee you Fulmer ORDERED his player to provoke the foul. Only way they had a chance at winning....think about it.....clocks run out basically (except for about 10 seconds) by the time its punted away and returned.
yeah, it's too bad that two great games today had to be decided by the men in stripes. let the guys play. that should have been offsetting penalties, if the ref felt compelled to call something
The reason I am so pissed, besides the fact that refs deciding games always will piss you off, is that Florida would be a top 5/6 team by the time the 1 loss LSU Tigers would have played them, after we beat Georgia. Oh well.
