  1. I figure, why should all those fools in iowa have all the fun?

I'll run another one next week for the Dems. Poll closes on friday night.
  2. I am interested to see how the numbers change when Fred officially announces in September.
  3. I am backing Ron Paul, and will vote for him if he is on the ballot be it as a Republican or Libertarain. I voted for Brownie and Badnarik the last two elections.

If Paul is a Libertarian and not on the ballot in Georgia I would vote for Fred Thompson.
  4. There isn't a candidate running in either party that is made of presidential timber.
    1 person likes this.
  5. i would be elated with ron paul, happy with giuliani, and pretty disappointed with anyone else.
  6. i am surprised to see so much support for ron paul here. i think if he were elected, he would truly bring change like no one else since the new deal. his stances on most issues are far outside the realm of the current party lines. he is exactly the kind of non-moderate we need. the kind of guy who could bring back the idea of small government.
  7. For the record, these are the results for the actual straw poll.

    1 Mitt Romney 4,516 31.6%
    2 Mike Huckabee 2,587 18.1%
    3 Sam Brownback 2,192 15.3%
    4 Tom Tancredo 1,961 13.7%
    5 Ron Paul 1,305 9.1%
    6 Tommy Thompson 1,039 7.3%
    7 Fred Thompson 203 1.4%
    8 Rudy Giuliani 183 1.3%
    9 Duncan Hunter 174 1.2%
    10 John McCain 101 0.7%
    11 John H. Cox 41 0.3%

And Tommy Thompson has officially dropped out
  8. which is why I support him and why he can never be elected.
  9. Ron Paul has a decent chance if republican primary voters who like him don't chicken out because they think he doesn't have a chance. Hopefully all these super early primaries are showing that he is a serious contender.

You know, giving some more thought, Ron Paul biggest hurdle wouldn't be a presidential race, it's getting the nomination. I'm a registered dem, but I'd vote for him in a heatbeat over most of the current crop of dem hopefulls, especially *shudder* Clinton.
  10. I voted for Ron Paul, but he has no chance to win. With him telling it like it is, corp. america will feel they can't control him, so no money for Ron Paul. If he gets close in popularity, they'll character assassinate him, or the RNC will.

We'll get corp america and the RNC's spoonfed candidate.
