Assume the top 8 bcs teams play each other in a typical tournament format:

    Bracket 1:

    First Round games:

#1 Ohio State vs. #8 Boise = Ohio State wins

#3 Michigan vs. #6 Louisville = Michigan wins

    Second Round game:

Ohio State vs. Michigan = Ohio State wins

    Bracket 2:

    First Round games:

#2 Florida vs. #7 Wisconsin = Florida wins

#4 LSU vs. #5 Southern Cal = LSU wins

    Second Round game:

Florida vs. LSU = LSU wins

    CHAMPIONSHIP GAME:

OHIO STATE VS. LSU = LSU WINS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP !

    Any arguments?

LSU and Wisconsin didn't deserve to play for a NC this season. When making up a playoff you have to look beyond what benefits LSU and beyond 2006.

So, by your logic, if N.E. wins out they don't deserve to play in the super bowl. LSU and Wisconsin both would be in a playoff, if there was one. That's the point of the guys post. With the way LSU has played the second half of the season, it is very likely that we could have won it all in a playoff.
