Congrats on the win... You guys took advantage of a short field early and came out and smacked us in the jaw. We never were able to recover due to the relentless D (note, everyone knows our Oline is very week, so the word relentless was noted for this particular game) coming out and being ALL OVER Croyle. Good game on your end, horrible on our end...Congrats. Roll Tide!
I like Croyle because he keeps getting up. The kid has had the hell beat out of him on consecutive Saturdays. He sorta reminds me of that guy, Kingsbury, that TTech had a few years ago. That dude could take a lick. Croyle's a gamer.
I thought he would have broken in half by now... 17 sacks in two games... The Alabam o-line should be ashamed....
You are right about old KK from TTU. Croyle had a rough stint at bama. A lot was expected because of his family name and because he was a Sr. QB. With his injuries, Croyle never got a chance to fully develop. I don't know how many games he started before this year, but it couldn't be the norm for a Sr. QB. The kid has my respect for enduring and making the effort, most folk would quit.
I'm just glad it was Auburn that finally stepped up to expose UAT. UAT has been squeaking by way too often ever since they beat that mediocre UF team. They have a good defense but Brodie and the gang might be just a tad overated. WAR DAMN EAGLE!!
First of all, I am not taking a damn thing away from what Auburn did this weekend. Frankly, I expected it. That being said, this loss falls squarely on some of the coaches shoulders. No if's, and's or but's about it.
I tend to agree. Bama's lack of depth hurts them in a rough league like the SEC. Especially in late season. But Bama's problems versus LSU and Auburn falls pretty much on the offensive line's failure to prevent QB sacks and hurries. Croyle and his two hot receivers could make life difficult for anybody's secondary if he wasn't laying on the grass so much.
That's the same coaches that were 9-0 a couple weeks ago. If you didn't have complaints about them then, you'd come off as less of a loser fan if you didn't complain about them now. Or did Bama get new coaches since then?:dis:
Key losses of Prothro and Closner exposed Bama's biggest weakness .... a lack of quality depth. The only surprise is that it didn't happen sooner in the season , and that the list of injured didn't include Brodie Croyle. I thought it would have happened earlier and predicted a 7-4 season for the Tide. They've definitely exceeded the expectations of reasonable fans. A 9-2 record in nothing to be ashamed of when you consider the three best SEC teams are all in the West division.
