huh? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6657164/ Because OU and USC started the season ahead of auburn, that makes them the clear two best teams in this guys eyes. And what he is really trying to say is, we should have had this match up last year instead of LSU in the Title game.
Well, I understand all the SEC got screwed arguments, but IMO, the BCS did get it right this year and last. I don't like that alot of them are using the reason because they were 1 & 2 all season and never lost, but I do believe they are 1 & 2. I see Va. Tech whipping AU in the Sugar Bowl (not just wishful thinking) and making the BCS look like it did the right thing.
I heard a guy on ESPN News say that we'll have the matchup this year that we should have had last year! :cuss:  :cuss:  :cuss:  :cuss:
last year, the nation was in an uproar b/c OU didnt win their conference, but still made it to the title game. LSU was basically caught in the middle, and no one really had a problem with them being there...that is, not until we won.
The problem I have with it is that, this year, the BCS formula supposedly tweaked to put more emphasis on both AP and Coaches polls. All this does is add bias into a system that was supposed prevent bias. Garbage in garbage out. :dis:
I have problems with it too. A system that minimizes SOS and has no margin of victory factored in, is a ****ed system. However, I think 1 & 2 are right this year and last.
I agree... If Auburn had started the season in the top 10 then maybe they would have leaped ahead of USC after one of their lackluster perfomances against Stanford, Oregon St, or UCLA. Since they had so much ground to make up in the beginning then it was hard for them to break into the top 2 at the end of the season. Before the BCS it would have resulted in the same NC opponents. ldskule: :usaflagwa
BULKLSH!T Any system that dosen't allow an undefeated SEC champion to play for the national title is bogus.
Every Year, the BCS has done what it was supposed to do--"match up the two teams with the best BCS ranking into the BCS National Championship Game". The problem is that each year, somebody doesn't like the matchup. This year, I don't like the answer because I think Auburn should play in the Orange Bowl. But that doesn't change the fact that the BCS was able to select two teams. The problem is that only two teams can be involved. Either a playoff, or the old bowl system would be better GEAUX TIGERS 2003 National Champions
