it's a start anyway. I knew it would happen. I just want to see one of them get the nod over the other to face OU in the Orange and I'm gonna sit back, maybe pop some popcorn and watch the Trojans and Aubbies turn on each other. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

I'm losing a little respect for USC.

Or their fans at least, they wont shut up in the AOL chat room(hence its in a chat room, but still it's irritating.) They won't shut up how USC would kill AU again if they played us, and how we're one dimensional( ). They also said we dont have the offense to compete with their D.

That's what fans are for. Personally I think it would be a great game.

Maybe saying losing respect was a little over board, but I am not giving them as much of a pass as I have been. They pull out close games with stanford and cal, and are gracious, and giving AU credit. they beat one team that was supposed to give them a game and now all they're doing is being a$$es and reminding me of OU fans of last year.

You do realize that half of this "lovefest" was because of the class with which their fans handled themselves at our house last season (and how they treated our visiting fans the year before), but the other half is purely to annoy the hell out of LSU fans like you? And you keep chomping on that bait like you think the hook feels good in your lip.

I mean, it's your business, but the best thing you could do to end the "lovefest" would be to stop showing that it bothers you so much. Thou dost protest too much.

Actually it was no worse than the sickening Georgia Love fest that was going on after we lost to them and right up until they lost to TN. :dis:
many predicted them to go the rest of their schedule unblemished. I predicted a Tn win on the road agaisnt the dawgs. UGA's win agaisnt us had more to do with our melt down than their good play.

I'm on record as saying that I pulled for LSU to beat OU in the Sugar Bowl...but I also felt that it was a rip off for USC to be #1 in both polls but not make the BCS title game. Oklahoma should not have made it into the title game. So, given that I felt USC and LSU were the two best teams at the end of last year, it wasn't such a bad result that the title was split between them.

But it doesn't come from some great love for USC. I posted once on their board after reading some really nice things they said about us and that was it. Given the opportunity, I want to beat the hell out of them like any other team on the schedule.

If your disdain for the outcome of last years BCS standings was not a product of "some love" for USC, how can you say that you were happy with it. Open your eyes and realize that BEFORE the season started, the championship game was determined to be the SUGAR bowl....NOT THE ROSE BOWL. The only reason USC got a piece of the NC, is because the west coast media bias listened to their whining and gave them something that wasn't theirs to give to shut them up.

I partially agree with the fact that USC should have been in the sugar bowl against us. I say partially because OU played a conference champ game and lost. If they wouldn't have had one like poor little USC then they would have still been undefeated going into the NC game. Simply put, USC whined like a bunch of little kids to get their way and Auburn loves them......which makes Auburn a pedophile...I'll save that one for another thread..... :lsug: :champs: :lsug:

Uh, actually the actions of the AU fans in question were A LOT worse than your so-called UGA love fest. There is a big difference in
A.) Showing some respect after getting belted by 29 points
    and
B.) Getting pounded and then ripping on your betters by kissing up to some school in another freaking conference.

I suppose your using this forum to brag that you picked UT to beat Georgia. Congratulations !! Everyone goes out on a limb from time to time and sometimes we are right. Just because you picked a winner doesn't justify you accusing Tiger fans of engaging in a sickening love fest. Sound like someone is sniffing too many fumes.

You have much to learn grasshopper. Now that your team is in the hunt, you will understand how the BCS has been modified to suit the media's need to be the kingmaker. Under last year's system, given AU's success against LSU and Tennessee, the computers may well have pushed your team into the top 2. With a win out, including a win over Ga and in the SECCG, you would be a lock for the BCS title game. As it is now, USC and OU, having been pre-ordained by the media, only need to win out against inferior competition and an undefeated Auburn will be left suckling on the hind teat. Enjoy your 13-0 season and enjoy the Sugar Bowl. Stop by BR and take a gander at the crystal football. Regardless of how good your team is (and I think they are very good) that's the closest you'll get to it.

Sabanfan is exactly right. I was reading the AU board and it is obvious they have no clue how this BCS thing works. Granted, I did not know either until last year. The changes in the system has "screw the SEC" written all over it. Some AU fans are bad mouthing the BCS. The 2003 BCS protected teams from small markets like Auburn and Baton Rouge from being screwed by the big media teams. I am sure I am not the only LSU fan that remembers those AU fans telling us USC was the real champ. I believe AU is set up to get the ultimate screw job and I love it. Any SEC champ that goes undefeated (which I am not convinced AU will go 12-0) should play for the one and only national championship. The current format of the BCS (no SOS) will not allow AU to leap an undefeated OU and USC. When AU gets shut out of the title game, they can blame the crybabies (USC) who changed the 2003 BCS rules. That would be teams in weaker conferences with no title game. SOS is what allowed the system to level the playing field. Indeed this situation will be fun to watch.
