A republican won Virginia. McAuliffe ran on a straight anti-Trumps message and Biden isn't the influencer he thought he was. People didn't care. He was blindly loyal to transgender issues in the state, especially the whole bathroom rape story. He was blindly loyal to woke race talking points saying that the state has too many white teachers and he ws going to fix that. What a pig he was. Youngkin ran on shit that matters, economy and education. He won back independents and centrists that didn't vote for Trumps. Minneapolis voters rejected city council efforts to defund the police and create a new Department of Public Safety. New Jersey gov race is in a dead heat after Democrats expected the gov to coast to reelection. Dems won a bunch of city elections but moderates were beating progressives. The Dems are in an ideological battle right now. Will they get the infrastructure bill they want or will the moderates prevent that from happening? It is look good for the moderates. In a world without Trumps, people's minds can focus on real things that matter.

and, Republican Winsome Sears defeated Democrat Hala Ayala in Virginia's lieutenant governor race. She is the first Black woman elected to a statewide office in Virginia. She is pro gun, anti vax mandate. She said in an interview before the election that white liberals talk down to her. LOL. She isn't the angry downtrodden black person they want her to be. maybe they have not moved on but independents who swung the elections last year have and we will see this moving forward. Democrat's slim majority in Congress will be lost in midterms. If the moderate dems successfully kill the spending bills or neuter them, that will be the end of anything meaningful Biden can do.
Youngkin’s campaign was brilliant. He kept Trump isolated to the trumpiest areas and out of the rest of the state. He didn’t even attend a phone rally with Trump. As Mancha said he campaigned on issues and attracted moderate voters. Hopefully a new blueprint for republicans.
