I have not been banned from any of their boards....yet, but you are right, they are very touchy. The fact is they have a very proud tradition, but their program has suffered greatly as of late, and the questions of overrated and media favortism are starting to really sting.

Did you realize they actually have a losing record in Bowl Games all-time? And 8 straight post season losses is not helping them out. I think that many of them are quite scared of the possible blow out by LSU and think the indictments of their program will just grow worse next year. It has to effect recruiting tremendously. Most of the guys I have sparred with really believe the service academies to be quite tough, and of course the SEC is overrated. I sincerely hope the entire SEC shows well in this post season to shut these arrogant blow-hards up once and for all. I know LSU will...:geauxtige

Good post! I hope the same for the SEC and I don't doubt the service academies are tough, they just can't play football. As far as it affecting their recruting.......I'm counting on it! :yelwink2:

I think they are some of the most arrogant fans I have ever seen. In my grand totoal of two post on the ND board, I had to defend LSU shedule and our toughness. One guy didn't think LSU would hit hard, thus, the Landry video went up. I was banned within the hour.

Can't wait for them to meet Landry, Dorsey, Stelz, Highsmith and Co. Does anyone know about Beckwith's status?

On that note...I don't know the average age of the posters on this board(38 here), but has anyone noticed a change in the overall perception of LSU in the media, opponents, etc?

I have spent some time on a lot of opponents boards this season, and besides the usual smack talk, etc., there really seems to be a genuine fear of what the Tigers are capable of in a game. I grew up fearing the likes of Alabama, Georgia (remember Herschel??), Florida(Spurrier), Hell even Ole' Miss(we lost in '86 at home...depressing), and even Tenn as little as 5 years ago looked beyond our capabilites. And now, while those games are not always a lock (obviously), the majority of our opponents since 2003 truely are concerned about having to play us. And I don't mean the Fresno States of the world, but the Top 10 teams in the country. Most of the ND posters seem to be in agreement that they would rather play any of the Top 10 but us.

I no longer feel like LSU is living on borrowed time by being ranked in the Top 10, but that we truely belong there. Have we just grown spoiled overnight, or has there really been a perceptable shift of power in the SEC with us at or near the top each year?? I would like to think the latter.

Maybe reading other boards has made this finally sink in for me. Anyone else (over 20!) feel the same way??
