I closed the window after the third paragraph. This guy is an idiot. I'd love to see this guy so I could punch him in his big stupid mouth. Bama fans are the most delusional fans in the SEC. Worse than Arky fans, and I'm around them every stinkin day. This pisses me off. This just shows the arrogance of self-righteous, narrow minded people.
Hope it plays out that way. Sounds like more "whistling through the graveyard." Surely, this should definitely be resurrected at the end of the season. Guess he forgot you still have to play the games.
After reading that, I felt like pulling for Va. Tech in the first game. That's wrong, the idiot should not affect me like that. I will pull for Bama. It will be better for the SEC, and I'd rather face an undefeated Bama team (even if they only have the 37th most difficult schedule), than a one loss Bama team. It would add more significance to our game with them.
I've often thought about whether the fact that we don't have a great football history will hurt us, but this article is definitely premature. Our coach already won a NC, and is clearly one of the classier coaches in the country. But the main thing he fails to look at is recruiting. You can tell the future of a team by looking at how they recruit, and we finished 2nd overall last year according to Rivals. I can see his point, but he's misrepresenting the facts he has. That's what comes with a blogger.
I salute you for your loyalty to the SEC. I feel exactly the same way during bowl season. But I want Bama to get it's arse handed to it at least 3 or 4 times this year, and Va Tech would be an awesome way to get that started. Gobble, gobble!
Who says LSU doesn't have a great football history? There are hundreds of colleges and universities that have played football through the years. LSU is easily one of the very best. Not in the same category as Bama or USC, who can legitimately claim dynasties at one time or another. But dynasties fade. I'd say a team that has 3 national championship banners has a great football history.
I should've explained a bit more. By "great football history" I mean a history of winning national championships and consistently competing for the conference with a winning record. I guess I really mean something more like historical football success rather than history.
OK. But I still disagree. Dominant or "storied"? Not. But don't let the fact that there are a few (very few) programs with better lineages discourage you from appreciating the great football legacy that is LSU.
I bailed pretty quickly while reading this, reading this as objective is like watching MSNBC thinking you are getting a balanced view of the world. Its some douche with a blog. Also say what you want about LSU, but forever when the trivia question comes up. "Which team was the first to win two BCS National Championships" I will always enjoy that answer.
I actually read about 2 sentences out of each paragraph hoping to find something of value or interest. Not much luck.
