The new logo that was much debated earlier this year looks GREAT after winning the National Championship!!! I see it everywhere and I like it. After all, one season as the official logo and a football National Championship is not bad!!! :geaux: :lsug: :geaux:
I heard it is going to be gone after the 2004 academic school year. Has anyone else heard about this?
I sure hope so. One would think that $60,000 spent on desinging a new logo would produce something more .... Maybe like your attachment. SPeakign of which where did you get your jpeg?

Back to the logo, If we get rid of "toonces" will the LSU tigers script be the logo? Man, IMO that logo is real slick, its so much easier to read and recognise. Like Oklahoma's logo and Texas's, you can just glance at 'em and know who it is.
I think the new logo still is very average, and not worthy, especially after we have won the NC. What a waste of $$$. Maybe the powers that be will let the students, fans and/or season ticket holders decide next time, so it doesn't flop like this one.
I've been told by several people that they are looking at a new log as this one has hurt sales throughout the marketing department. and some of thoose who said so are partners with LSU in selling merchandise so I have a feeling they are correct as it has effected them adversely also.
Two reasons why I won't buy anything with the new logo: 1. It's not appealing at all. - Although the previous "logo" was not actually an official logo, it was still better than this one! 2. It was designed by a yankee instead of a Louisianian. - What a slap in the face to the state and the university!
