Consider this scenario, if you will:

    - Fresh off a National Championship, with the highest paid and most coveted college football coach in the country as well as talent laden recruits at every position the geniuses that make up Tiger Nation have taken it upon themselves to decide what is best for the 2004 team. Inspired by a local poll organized by individuals whose cumulative football knowledge wouldn't make interesting bathroom reading material for Saban, Fisher or Muschamp, these ticket paying, beer drinking, God-fearing, good hearted people....who at the same time, it must be noted.... are grossly underqualified, completely devoid of training aside from possibly the most basic level and lacking in any real grasp for the true dynamics of the team have reached a conclusion.

    Well.....halle-frickin'-luia.....

You jack-asses that boo and bitch and moan and question Saban remind me of the idiots I used to stand next to at Florida Field. "Spurrier always abandons the run....just abandons the run!!...", they would complain as the best teams to ever grace the turf below them occasionaly fell short of their assinine expectations. Well....take a look at them now. They used to play for SEC Championships every year. Last year they got their asses handed to them in the Outback Bowl.

So rock on people, rock on..... as you pave the way for a return to a Peach Bowl berth or perhaps a late December drive up to Shreveport. Won't that be nice?

p.s.- I don't care if you ban me from this board or what but you idiots, and you know who you are, should shut the **** up and sit in the stands and cheer. You're not qualified to do anything else. And no, paying your ticket price doesn't make you qualified to make decisions. They pay Saban to run the team, not the local sports shows, journalists or the fans and thank God for that. You're going to miss him when he is gone. :geaux:

The guy makes a decent point - take it as you will. Passion should be combined with pride and class. Opinions will never drive Coach Saban away, but outlooks just might...

Coach Saban is driving the bus... climb aboard, or walk...

I totally trust Coach Saban and his decisions...and Randall might start...I will not boo. I am a Marcus Randall fan. I just feel that Russell is the future, and he gets the nod in my book, if for nothing else than he didn't just get handed an opportunity. He took it and ran with it.

Now, Russell isn't the SEC Offensive Player of the Week. But, it's not up for debate that the team responded to him, and that while Russell might know less of the playbook, he can bring a vertical attack to the field that was not evident with Randall.

An increased threat via a vertical stretch of the field will prevent the stacking of the defensive line, and open up the running lanes, both to the outside and the inside. They can't stack the box for the interior runs, and they can't come up for run support if they're respecting the vertical routes over the top and in the intermediate passing game.

Now, I think that with the option, more sprint/roll outs, added emphasis on the bubble screen and actually COMPLETING IT (LOL!) would have actually allowed for more success on offense from a rushing standpoint, which would allow for more ball control, which would provide more rest for the defense, which provides less opportunity for the opposing offense.

Most importantly, it provides less stress on Randall when he is forced to pass.

I'm not doubting Saban, just stating what I think should happen, in my opinion...If what I feel should happen ends up not happening, you won't find me here crying and gnashing my teeth...I'm just conversing about LSU Football in my eyes...

Perhaps some Xanax could help us all at this point...Did it get too spicy in here for a while tonight?

Last thing I'll say on this, and I don't know the answer because I'm not old enough to know- Did Bama fans ever boo the team when Bear Bryant was the coach? Well, I'm not calling Saban Bear Bryant here, but he's as close as LSU is ever gonna get.

The good book Jeremiah talks about a ha-ramah

The name denotes height ... i.e., out of the swamp on a high ground where my section of land is near the present town of Ramah ... the town derived its name from the GOOD BOOK. I've always let you "blow on" about the Hindu reference to "rama" or exalted one during your rants or "nitwit netwits" ...

rather amusing looking back now, huh

...What my friend is trying to say is that love is blind -Old School

All of this is about more than just one man or a bunch of kids playin' ball: it's about kids reading some of the garbage posted, the garbage on the television, the garbage in the papers, and the garbage screamed from the stands. It's about class. It's about fans-fanatics- supporting and encouraging kids as they develop into great athletes. FightinTiger, I don't think anyone is saying don't expresss yourself. Some are just saying choose carefully how, when, and where you express yourself.

I think I understand the point some are making: they are concerned with where LSU football/athletics/the school is going because a lot rides on the shoulders of a kid.

That kid that is damn good, damn athletic. But that kid will grow up, and might only be around for a couple more years. Is that the future? The next couple of years?

No, I think the point that flabengal makes is that the real future rest upon the shoulders of the man making the decisions, the coach. We all agree that bad coaches get us nowhere, but great coaches get us championships. Us-because there are many here that live, sleep, eat, breath, rise, and fall with LSU football. There is a coach at the helm that, if he’s as happy as he was last year, might stay around for a little while longer than a couple years. But, if certain fans continue expressing there ill-advised opinions, the coach might pack it up and go.

Not only that, we should have a little more pride in ourselves, the fans. We pride ourselves on hopsitality, partying, and the looove of SEC/Tigah football. Hows about a little pride in class?

They questioned Moses on the Rock

After he delivered them from bondage ... :hihi:

What we have here is the evil that is human nature ... whether we care to admit it or not ... the tendency toward all things is chaos

I propose we stay the course ... and all become the equivalent of little Saban dolls ...

bobbing our heads up and down on the dashboard.

The poll was tasteless and I agree with Saban's response. Being responsible should be part of being a journalist. :lsug:
