"Responsible journalism" is an oxymoron although the "moron" part sure does fit. The "poll" is totally classless, tasteless and completely despicable. May the fleas of a 1,000 camels infest the armpits of those responsible for it ! Regardless of how anyone feels about the way Marcus Randall played Saturday, no one, not one single person, can deny that this young man played his heart out and worked his @ss off to put himself in a position to succeed at QB. People are going to do whatever they chose when he takes the field Saturday (the poll gurantees he will start), but I would never ever, not under any circumstance boo an LSU player. IMHO, thats one of the lowest things anyone can do in Tiger stadium. Unfortunately some fans are never going to see it that way and will never be satisfied. I had a conversation with one last week who was critical of some of Saban's decisions LAST year. I remined him that we won the National Championship and his response was " Yeah but ...." I didn't even listen to the rest of it. We waited decades for a NC and some people are now spoiled with all of our riches. If Saban puts Marcus in the game he is owed every single fans support, IMHO. Flabengal good post.
You expect FANS to sit down and shut up? The passion we have for LSU football is what makes Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium so special ... not the coach, not the media, but THE FANS! This great passion is also what makes some fans go overboard when things don't go exactly to plan. Does that make them a bad fan? Hell no! IMO, the only bad fans are those who boo college athletes. There is nothing wrong with questioning, discussing and debating LSU football. This has been going on well before Saban arrived, will continue to happen while he is here, and will be happening long after he is gone! It's a meaningless, fricking internet poll about who should start at QB ... and it's a fair subject based on their performance against OSU. To suggest those of us who support LSU football can't have an opinion is assinine! IMO, Saban is way off on this one....
To all that boo our players, may they instantly be inflicted, with all manner of treachery, that awbarn swears we inflict on them. The threat of such inhumanity to man, should stop the booing! :thumb:
I totally agree with Flabengal and those on this thread that agree with him as well. When I hear guys criticizing the play calling and game management decisions, I laugh my ass off. Just who the hell do they think they are? I'll tell you...frustrated jocks who couldn't get it done but think they learned all they need to know about football from some high school coach. I thought the reverse was a great call. It didn't work because Swancutt stayed home and did what he was coached to do. That doesn't make it a bad call. Wet field does restrict what you can do but it doesn't restrict what you can try to do. Game management is a fluid situation that changes constantly. Any fan that thinks he can, in hindsight, criticize proven coaches for in game decisions is nothing but (no other way to put it) one stupid and arrogant m----r f----r.
We discuss, debate and question political leaders' decisions... We discuss, debate and question our parent's decisions when we were young... We discuss, debate and question our employer's decisions... But God help us if we discuss, debate and question the decisions of the LSU football coach? Funny how your opinion seems to be the only one that counts in your mind!
Ramah - I need a gorgeous 22-year old date for the game this weekend. What would a God-fearing, law-abiding gentleman have to do for such a privilege?
Excuse me but I paid my service Charge and for my season tickets (4) and I will do what I want to do in that seat as long as I don't abuse the fans around me. You got that tuff guy. :thumb:
If Swancutt goes with the fake handoff, Green could have swam into the endzone doing the doggy paddle. He didn't slip and fall. He was tackled. It wasn't a bad call. It just didn't work. Thank you for identifying yourself as one of the aforementioned SMFs.
I don't have a problem with opinions. It's the uninformed criticism that drives me up the wall. There's a difference in saying "I don't think he called a good game" and "His playcalling sucks". Or, "I don't think that reverse was a good call" and "that reverse call sucked". See the difference? Probably not because, after all, it's all about you isnt it?
if the play calling sucked it sucked does everybody on here have to talk like u sabanfan its all about winning and if i say russel gives the best chance of winning u go off on people oh i know i didnt say it softly enuff since my opinion differs from u lol lol lol
