Some of you continue to miss the point. I'll try and show you what I mean.

-Saban is responsible for the revivial of the LSU football program, not the fans. Get that through your heads. How do I know this? Tiger Stadium was pretty much packed even through the lean years but that didn't improve the record much. In fact if you look at LSU's home record during those years (Hallman/Dinardo) it was pretty dismal. Suddenly it has taken a dramatic change for the better. Take a look when that started......when Saban was hired, that's when. Good coaches make a difference, that's why they pay them more.

-Florida Field is no longer the intimidating "Swamp" that it used to be. Florida lost to Ole Miss, Tennessee, Miami and Florida State last year. The fans are still there, they still yell and do the Gator chomp and all that crap. They go home a helluva lot quieter than they used though, and more often.

-I'm not saying Saban is perfect. Nobody is and there will always be mistakes made but he really doesn't need our help in decision making. You have to go with the percentages and he will do the right thing the majority of the time. Hell, he even did the right thing on Saturday and pulled Randall and put Russell in. Why don't you trust him? :(

Another thing, this local station that ran the poll.......what were they doing? Is that supposed to be supporting the team or are they just trying to stir things up? I'm glad Saban has refused to name the starter. It's pretty clear he's going to make a point to the media. The LSU football program is not a democracy, period. If the writers and journalists aren't creative enough to fill their articles or time slots with subject matter that isn't harmful to the program then, well, quite honestly I hope Saban or somebody else with the right connections can make a phone call to tell them they are making the successful operation of the LSU football program more difficult. Don't they realize that? Why do they insist on making Saban and the football players' job harder?!

They're a bunch a ******* idiots that's why, and should be told to shut up and cheer for the team like they're supposed to. :thumb:

p.s.- you can have your opinions, just like if you're married I'm sure your wife has certain opinions about you. Would you prefer she air them out in public? Would that make your marriage easier? Or do you prefer to handle things internally, the way they should be?

I have been going to LSU games for over 30 years...

I have never ever booed. When LSU screws up I feel bad, but I also feel bad for our guys and our coaches, we are all an LSU family, forever linked by our love for LSU. They are our players and when they don't succeed it sucks, but I like all of them and feel much like I would if my own kid screwed up. I wouldn't boo him, but I would feel bad. Saban will take care of the problems in practice just as a parent disciplines his own child. I just have never understood booing OUR guys when they NEED our support the most. How many times has Saban pointed out how great it was after UGA scored on a 93 yarder and our crowd got LOUDER? Hes right! Thats the spirit we need all the time for all players IMO.

Wow ... the local media's job is to cheer for the local teams, instead of reporting what actually happened?!

Are you suggesting the local media should sugarcoat a bad performance so we all feel better?

News organizations conduct polls all the time, and this poll is no different. They simply wanted to get a feel for who LSU fans want to start! And yes, the news media do like to stir things up as it creates news ... see AP Poll!

I know we want to avoid stating the truth here, but we have a QB controversy brewing. I know nothing good comes from this, but it's reality ... and not talking about it won't make it go away!

I agree with Flabengal as well, however, this is the part that is somewhat of a contradiction to me. You recognize the fact that no one is perfect, on that fact I agree 100%. However, it is common sense to know that when there is a large following of ANYTHING and the presence of anything less than perfection, people will voice their opinions whether you like it or not, and unfortunately there is nothing you or I or anybody can do about it. It's kinda like a revolving door here. We complain about how people complain about how the game is being played....makes a whole lot of sense, yet I still can't stop myself. It's human nature to complain.....

I agree on the fact that Saban is the man and he is responsible for the big turnaround and BLAH BLAH FREAKIN BLAH. He is the coach, he runs the show, and his main objective is to get a win. It doesn't matter how we got the win last weekend but we got it and that is exactly what he is paid to do.

I don't normally say too much about the play calling and how this and that could have been better because 1- I am pretty sure I don't know nearly as much about the game as Saban and his staff does, and because 2- there's not a whole lot I could do about it anyway. As for LSU fans booing our players...that sucks. That's not even close to ever being justfied and it burns me up when it happens. I am thinkin we need to get over last week and look forward to the rest of the season and what problems need to be corrected....just like the rest of the team is doing.

Is there anyone here that would boo a kid at a little league game? Pee Wee football game? Soccer game? What if your son was the starting QB for a local high school and a bunch of fans stood up and started booing your child? Then why do we think we can boo college players? BC we pay more for the tickets? BC DeafvallerBtr says that he would? He is the kind of fan that the aubies talk about. :geaux:

I listened to the game on the radio and I know a lot about football, but I do not have the knowledge to question a coach that has brought a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP to Baton Rouge. If I did I would not be working with a local high school team. The coaches called the plays that they thought would work and some of them did and some of them did not.

What is going to happen to ya'll if LSU starts 4-2 or 3-3. That is a very real possibility and the fans are already b!tching. We are ranked in the top 5 and we are 1-0.

If that happens I'm going to make a lot of enemies on this board because the idiots will be out in force and I'm going to be here to tell them they are wrong.

I blame football video games. It gives every person who was too chicken**** to walk on to a college program or suit up for his highschool the unreal perception that he can lead a Div 1 football program, because of his ability to play and beat a football video game. Or that somehow they know better than a trained coach or player.

That said, I'm all for people having opinions and the need to express them. I also feel that if you didn't play football, you can still have opinions and insights into the game and situations. That is what a place like this if for, I just think some fans get a little too strong in their opinions, as if they above all others are more informed than everyone else (including the paid coaches and trained players) . . . when none of are out there actually doing it or giving up our time to reach these high expectations. It's just easier to sit on the sidelines booing and complaining than to actually go out there and do something about it.

I be here with you defending them, bc we could very easily be 4-2 in a few weeks. We play @ Auburn, @ Georgia and @ Florida in the next few weeks. We could easily go 1-2 in those games. The last part of our schedule is easier though. We can start 4-2 or 3-3 and still finish 9-2 or 8-3. Would you take that, boys and girls? :eek:ldskule:

Can we throw in a SECCG win and repeat Sugar Bowl berth? Because if so, I say sure, why not? :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
