We lined Big Herm about a yard or so off the line of scrimage on the QB sneak and he steamrolled the defense so JR could get that first down. Anyone notice that? I's bet the staff had to warn the officials about it beforehand so that we would not be called for not enough guys on the LOS.
Never noticed that. Who in the world do you thing would have stopped Herm with a running start even it it is 1 yard?
Thanks for the vid. I thought it was a great call. With the meat on the OL, and a QB who is bigger than most LBs, we should be able to get that yard almost every time. The formation was legal, since Big Herm lined up like a FB or HB. The line was covered on both sides my a TE. UF was caught not having seen that formation before. We had 11 guys in tight, and they should have brought more into the box. Not that it would have mattered. If we could get these guys to push every down like they do in some of these short yardage situations. Get them to PLAY every down. We could have another 30-40 yds rushing per game.
I did notice that he was in for that one play. But I'm wondering why he hasn't been playing more this year, especially considering our troubles running it up the middle. I'd like to see Carey running it behind him. That'd be hilarious.
I think the LSU staff has been doing a great job of interchanging all of the linemen on both sides of the ball.
Tigers are TIED for 1st w/ Texas Tech and Penn St in 4th Down Coversion % Penn State 6for6 LSU 5for5 Texas Tech 5for5 extra tidbit, new mex state has went for 29 4th downs.. converting 14 of them
That was a set up play for later in the year. We are gonna run playaction out of that formation and hit big Herm with a pass in the flat. It will take at least 5 on em to bring him down.
Right, they don't make mistakes? I'd bet a dollar they informed the refs of the play before the game. Heck, my coaches back when I played NORD ball use to tell the refs when we were going to run some kind of a trick play.
