I've only been to road games at Vaught-Hemingway in Oxford, Neyland in Knoxville, and Bryant-Denny in Tuscaloosa (including last year's SEC Championship in Atlanta), but Death Valley was incredible. Loud as anything I've ever heard. I'll go against TM and say the crowd had a big impact on the game (I was in the 4th row in the AU section). When Vaughn's OT kick hit the upright, the stadium was almost shaking it was so loud..

Anyway, I arrived in Baton Rouge and parked to the west of the stadium in a cow pasture. Yes, a cow pasture. Free parking in a huge pasture, and yes, it is a nightmare to get out. Anyway, from there, went to a tailgate and caught the end of UGA/Arky. After that, I walked around the stadium and campus, hearing constant cries of "Tiger Bait" and "Hey, you guys have shakers?! Can we have one?" Walking through campus, a few motorcycles started coming by. Apparently, the LSU Flag is a confederate flag with a yellow and purple color scheme. The entire Black Student Union was boycotting through the campus, demanding that a- the flag be banned, or that b- black student-athletes immediately cease playing collegiately for LSU. I found it quasi-funny, and took pictures, which only made the BSU grow louder and louder in their chants of "Ban the Flag" and "Don't play Russell."

My name must be F and not Wryn. So many LSU fans came up to me with a glazed look asking "F? You?!" I told them I didn't know him. Har.

Back to Tiger Walk, where I stood first row right outside the stadium and had a high-five from all the players, and hugs from friends Chette Williams, Will Herring, Tim Duckworth, and Anthony "Why don't they throw to me 20 times a game" Mix. A funny moment at Tiger Walk came when an LSU security guard told the crowd of orange, "Alright, we're going to let you have Tiger Walk, but you're going to have to move to that side of the street for the buses." As the orange crowd went one way, I (the only person who never drinks on gamedays - or any other day - ever) went up to the guard pridefully. "Thank you for letting us have Tiger Walk. I'm so happy that we can still have it!! If it weren't for you, well, with my cell phone, I was just about to call the team and have them turn their plane around and fly back to Auburn. Thanks again!!"

Game went fine, one drunk LSU guy beside me, but after he passed out at halftime, we didn't hear much from him, and occasionally went down to check for a pulse and vital signs.. The funny thing of note here was my best friend at the game, without any credentials, slipped onto the field and talked to some cheerleader friends before kickoff. He walked out onto the field, even doing a handstand in the LSU endzone. Apparently, LSU does not offer credentials to people, just take their word for it when they approach and want to go on the field. Really.. dumb. It was funny to see my best buddy on the field slapping AU players on the shoulder as they walked onto the field..

Post-game, not much, save a few drunk LSU fans screaming in my ear. A lot of "Great games" and "That may be the best game I've ever seen's.."

I'd go back.

Okay, 1st, you feel the carotid for a pulse, not the femoral artery. 2nd, you check with your fingers, not your tongue.
