Also a few individual track and tennis championships that I know of, even though I'm assuming this stat was for team championships only.

The NCAA does not conduct a championship for D-1 football, except for the recent BCS.
:eek:lefire: won national championships in fb in 1959, 1960, and 1962.

Actually, the NCAA doesn't recognize the BCS championship ... it is still considered a Mythical National Championship.

Let me rephrase that. The NCAA does not officially recognize any national championships in D1 football. That's what I meant to put.

Well hell that would mean we only had one then. screw that. :dis:

ALSO you are wrong they do not have 3 they have ONE.
1960, the others were considered lesser polls at the time. Kinda Like USC THINKS they won a NC last year. anotherwords they WISHED IT, because they had a good season and finished first in a couple of insignifcant polls.

The quote was never finished, if you kept reading, then you would have seen that it was revised.

No. I'm not wrong. I really don't care how many they claim, but many old :eek:lefire: fans I know, back when Johnny Vaught was coach, claim three. Good for them.

The first two link claims national championships for :eek:lefire: in 1959,1960, and 1962 if you can read.
