LSU - Miles Auburn - Tubberville Alabama - Saban Arkansas - Petrino Ole Miss - Nutt Miss. St - Croom Croom will probably be named SEC Coach of the year, and he's out weakest link. Good grief.
Ans I personally believe Nutt is way better than most think. Now that he can think without being bothered by the crazy folk he may be able to field a steady SEC West contender. It will take a few years, but he is a good coach.
After the LSU game, I would have predicted MSU to go 2-10. His team went 7-4 after that, pretty incredible.
SEC West should be tougher next year...The SEC East, not so much since you're gonna have UGh-A and UF rolling until they play LSU of course.
There cannot be any serious question about which conference in college football is the strongest. This is going to be interesting since the South isn't as populous as the two coasts and ESPN/SI etc. will be trying to elevate the competition in the PAC-10 and the Big Least/ACC in order to provide some sort of regional excitement in the big markets. When we win the NCG the Big 11 will be exposed and only USC and some of the teams in the Big 12 will really look like contenders. Wouldn't it be great if the pre-season top 10 included 6 or 7 SEC teams? On the other hand, we have to navigate these waters. Makes it all the more clear that a two-loss SEC team belongs in the NCG.
Let's say that none of these coaches in the West lose, or change jobs in the next couple of years. Can you imagine the dogfights for the West title in 2010, 2011, etc??? You figure we'll still be in the mix; Auburn is always in the mix; Saban should have Bama stronger, Nutt will do a good job at Ole Miss, and Petrino (although I question his credibility) will probably do a good job at R-Kansas. And then there's the EAST. The whole league might go 7-5 (except Vandy), with the conference champion going 9-4. BRUTAL!!! :crystal: :geaux: :crystal: :geaux: :crystal:
my thoughts exactly, i thought the guy would be fire this year. I was dead wrong. This guy has a lot of class and integrity. Parents love that when you are on the recruiting trail. Being the first African American in the SEC, believe it or not wins alot of good recruits. Not a racist statement just reality imo.
The SEC West is not Murders Row. I have to think we have the toughest schedule of all SEC schools now. Why? Because we get to play every team in the West plus Florida every year with Georgia thrown in for the next 2 years. An outside the conference easy schedule should not hurt us at all. Good Grief, it might just be possible the SEC could have a 2 loss team in the NC game on a regular basis.
