One thing the SEC should do is clear-up its nickname situation. I mean how can you have two sets of schools having the same nickname. I mean what type of God would allow you have to have two bulldogs in the same conference. I think UGA and Miss. St. should play each other over a seven year period and the first one to four wins gets to keep the name bulldogs.

Auburn should be forced to drop Tigers. They already have Plainsmen and War Eagle, let them keep those two but they is only one school that deserves the name Tigers and that's LSU. Auburn's school colors have nothing to do with tigers. Tigers are golden.

Kentucky should get a more original nickname. Yes every conference has a wildcat it seems with Arizona, Northwestern, and K State. Maybe there should be a 4 team tournament in football with the winner keeping wildcats and the others forced to choose new names. Whoever has highest winning percentage gets seeded #1 and so on.

Gamecocks is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I mean there are only so many innuendos before someone gets offended. Every other nicknames makes sense or is original enough.

Two Tigers and a Wildcat are far better than a Gopher or an acorn (excuse me, a buckeye).

I'm going more for originality. No other school at D1-A are called Golden Gophers or Buckeyes. Yes, the big ten seems partial to small mammals with badgers and wolverines and wildcats as well. But a Nittany Lion is very unique as are badgers and wolverines--a member of the weasel family.

The SEC has some great original nicknames in Crimson Tide and volunteers. By the way Troy State and San Jose State should be forced to get new nicknames we all know that Trojans and Spartans are from Los Angeles and East Lansing.

Raplh, what are you smoking today? I want some!

I think having two teams with the same nickname adds more interesting aspects to some rivalries.

We don't have a leg to stand on as far as originality goes. "Tigers" is the most common nickname in the NCAA.

Yeah, but I think LSU is the school with the nickname tigers with the most NCAA championships. LSU has earned the right to be the only Tigers.
Clemson, UK, Mizzou should be forced to get new names. I mean the clemson orange wind is very original. UK should be called the bluegrasses or something like that. Mizzou should be called the Blue Cardinals to unify the state

Florida Beaches (C'mon you beaches, tackle somebody !)
Georgia Jimmys (what else are they famous for ?)
Arkansas Incestors (what else are they famous for ?)
Mississippi State Ranch Oysters (Jackie cut 'em....remember ?)
Alabama High Tide (requires minimal logo retooling)
Auburn Low Tide (take bama's logo and copy it.....smaller)
Vanderbilt Mensas (ACT co-champs with Stanford)
Ole Miss Boll Weevils (Irritating but otherwise irrelevent)
South Carolina Blue Veins (Hey, careful now....)
    Tennessee Midgets (think Kenny Chesney)
Kentucky Fried Chickens (alternative choice - Bourbon Corksoakers)
:hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
