I got this from another board: LSU is definitely an elite team in this century. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- All games played thru Jan 4, 2006. Assuming Tx, Ga, VaT, Aub win and Oh St, Louisville. S. Cal lose. The LSU record v this illustrious group during the period 2000-2005 is 7-6, of course including stunning wins over #1 and #2. 1. Miami 64-10....865 2. Okla 68-11....861 3. Tx 65-11....855 4. Ga 61-16....792 5. USC 59-17....776 6. LSU 59-18....766 7. OhSt 57-18....760 8. VaT 58-19....753 9. Louvl 56-19....747 10. Aub 56-20....737
Well they play in the toughest of ALL conferences; perhaps you heard of it on ABC, NBC, CBS, ESPN,ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN Classic, FOX, CNN, et al.........the PAC 10! :hihi:
"This century" started with the 2001 season, not 2000, so I have to take exception... given my beloved Hawkeyes are 45-16 in this century. Now if we could just get rid of our 2001 record of 7-5, we'd be 38-11 in this century. Of course I wouldn't make this point unless it worked for me. I'm pretty sure Texas has the best record in the 21st century at 55-8, one better than either USC or Miami.
Three SEC teams in the top ten. I just wonder how many others are in the next ten. My point being that they have to play each other - win a few - lose a few, but over these six years the SEC knocks off other SEC teams. Auburn plays LSU and GA every year, along with AL, almost wonder how they managed a top ten slot.
