The Truth About the WOW.

As most of the country did, I'm sure even most Tiger fans could only say WOW! after that performance. You couldn't have scripted it any better in a game of NCAA '08 on easy level.

The most important stat after two games.....+8 in turnovers, and we have surrendered 0.

Matt Flynn command the offense with the calmness of a 5th year senior that has started for 4 years. His pocket pressence is brilliant, and even though he missed a couple intermediate passes last night, he is very accurate in his throws.

The mix of RP into the offense was perfect. Crowton used the ole bait and burn to set VT up like a beach ball on a tee for the RP to Doucet TD. 5/5 with 2 TD's, the use of RP throughout games will and should continue.

The offensive line made some major improvements from game one in both the run and passing game. Flynn had time and the backs had holes. It has been a while since we have seen them put together such a balanced game against what believe it or not is truly one of the best defenses in CFB.

Our runningback by commitee is going to be nearly unstoppable in the 4th quarter. Most teams would be happy to have one fresh set of legs that late in the game, the Tigers rotate em so that we have 4 or 5.

Hello America, meet Brandon Lafell. I say that because even I was starting to wonder if we were going to have a true #2 receiver this year. LaFell showed up and stole the show. I was a bit surprised that Toliver didn't get in the lineup earlier, but apparently we didn't need him.

Now to the defense. I hate to get this excited. Especially since the two offenses we faced were not what I would consider fluent. But it appears that the closest thing to this defense is the Baltimore Ravens. Pelini is like a magician with the way he disguised his blitzes and coverages. VT had absolutely no clue what we were doing at any one time in this game.

If we continue to recruit DB's like we have, it will not be long before every starting safty and corner in the NFL will be from LSU. Of course its not so much that the individuals are so good (they are very good), it is that they play so well together. Everyone is where they are supposed to be 3 seconds before they have to be and that is just plain sick.

Our slowest linebacker, Luke Sanders, is apparently faster than everyone else on the other team. These guys get to the ball, before the ball.

Even without Dorsey in the game, LSU still has the best defensive line in the SEC. The depth is enough to fill two all star teams.

I have to say, I was concerned before the season about the offense, and even more concerned after the MSU game, but Crowton fooled everyone, and Flynn is the real deal.

This is going to be an exciting season, and I am fairly confident that the only team that can beat LSU before the championship game is LSU.

Great Post. I'll even go this far...

The performance last night had to be the most dominating performance we've ever had against a highly ranked team on a REALLY big stage in the regular season, especially in the first half, than any Tiger Team has accomplished. It was complete and total affirmation of our place in the college football world these days.

There aren't enough adjectives to describe what happened in the first half last night. Amazing!

Does this mean the Miami Hurricane Peach Bowl blow out and the Sugar Bowl Notre Dame Brady Quinn beat down were not flukes?

Toliver was either the #3 or 4 WR, and was on the field quite a bit. I don't think he had a single pass from Flynn though.

Not that it really matters, but the Mitchells were 3 and 4. Toliver never touched the field until late in the 3rd quarter unless I missed it.
