Since this is coming from a Bama fan, it can't be construed as an illegal benefit...so you NCAA guys can look elsewhere today. With no doubt in mind, the game ball goes to Jemarcus Russell. NO DOUBT. One hell of a game by JR. While the stats only reflect 3 TD's thrown, the credit for Williams 38 yard run for a TD in the 1st quarter has to go to Russell also. If he hadn't been able to spread the defense like he did, I can't see the running lane being open as wide as it was. (not taking anything away from Williams, mind you). Geez, completing 18 out of 21 attempts??!!?? 207 yards out of your total offense (418)! I knew after the first few attempts he was on. So, here's to you JR.
Good post, as all your posts this week have been! Thanks for hanging out and making Bama week even better. You guys played a great game also. Your young QB looked great, hit his receivers when they were open, and they were open too much for our taste. It was a good SEC contest. I think Bama misses too many guys that graduated off that great defense last year (I know the Texans enjoy Ryans at LB!). Good Luck the rest of the season, especially against Auburn!
Was great hearing your rational thoughts...some that other people dont bring here often. You guys ran the ball all over the field on us and next years matchup should be a thriller. Best of luck to you guys this coming weekend. Beat those war chickens!! Should be no pressure for you guys since GA took y'all off the hook, since we needed Allbarn to loose at least one more game. I wish I could have gotten up with you guys when y'all had some Dreamlands ribs. I guess there is always next time.
Yep good posts this week. Bamma has talent. Wilson is a very good QB and impressed me more than Brodie ever did. He hung in there even under heavy pressure at times and threw one with a defensive lineman hanging on him. The SEC West is going to be very tough the next couple of years.
Terry, where did that Alabama offense come from? I expected Bama to be ready to play and to come in fired up and motivated, but I was expecting a very stout defense to hinder Russell and company enough to give their unspectacular offense a chance. Instead, Bama posted yardage like we haven't seen against this LSU defense. Nobody, I mean nobody, has passed like that aganst LSU and nobody has had that much success protecting their quarterback from LSU's four-man pass rush. I think that young quarterback is a keeper. In fact, I saw a number of serious athletes out there. I'm not sure what Alabama's problems have been this season, but it's not about a lack of talent.
I agree on JR getting the game ball and with the other posters about the Bama QB. He showed some potential to me. Great accuracy last night. Terry, you definitely have upside with this guy.
Ditto what Red says. Bama has one heck of a team top to bottom and it is obvious Shula is a good coach with his game plan last night. If Bama plays Auburn next weekend like they played LSU they come out with the W. Congrats to the Tide, they deserve it.
Thanks for the kind words, Terry. Went to the game with my cousins from Chelsea, Alabama (LSU fans all). We sat in the Bama section and I told the fans there that Bama was giving our defense more trouble than anyone we played this year, including Florida. We just could not stop their offense. That came as a big surprise for me. This game may knock LSU out of the #1 position for defense.
