Quote from the Advocate: " LSU was always on top. But basically it came down to family. I want to win SEC championships, national championships, and I want to share those big moments of my life with my mom. It came down to being close to her. Louisiana is home. The state has been down with Katrina and Rita. LSU football keeps the state happy.""I wanted to make the right decision. I wanted to make a decision and stick with it". I am really glad that he made his final decision based on family, and the fact he realizes that LSU keeps the state happy. That's after fighting off the heavy surge of pressure from his coach and best friend at the final moments into going to USC instead. Also adding to that is the poison that Ogeron was feeding him about the difficulties for the running backs if JR were to be running the offense next year. As a school, USC is a more tempting choice with all the glitter and media attention, and the softer defenses they have to face; they have a better reputation in regards to academics and the location offers a big city life. Career wise, I don't think it makes too much of a difference if one performs well on the field. Actually it was a tough fight for LSU to compete against because of all these factors, but finally FAMILY WINS. That tells me something about his character; I am beginning to like him. Hope he turns out to be one of the greatest backs coming out of LSU:thumb: ________ Zoloft Class Action Lawsuit
Judging from the way he expresses himself, I believe he is committed to play football to LSU after he made up his mind. Would luv to see LSU crush and embarrass Ogeron the next time the teams meet ________ LovelyWendie99
Let's see.... I despise Phat Phil for his antics and whining over the game this past season. (Didn't like him before then, but that just made it worse.) I gag over the Tubster, just because I can't stand Auburn (a lot for personal reasons). I thought O was an ass before, but now I want to see him running back to Oxford crying like a g.... Well, crying and thoroughly humiliated. Beaten and broken. Hated by the weebles.
If a youngster plans on living in Louisiana after college then I don't see why they would go off, even though I know there are some good reasons, no LSU offer, too much positional depth, etc. When a kid stays in state and plays for LSU he will be a hero the rest of his life.
