It is wishful thinking, but I would love to see the Ol' Ball Coach reduce LSU's deficit in the SEC West to just one game. I love watching college football on Thursday Nights, but I will definately take special interest in this Thursday night's matchup. (AUB should win easily, but that's why they play the game!)
Thursday night football in definately coming up in the world. It is very difficult for me to cheer for SC, if they win, it will be good for us. I can't wait to here what Holz has to say about this game.
I'm torn in half over this game. I never liked Spurrier, but never really hated the guy either. I've never attempted to hide my feelings for Auburn (see sig below). If I was garaunteed that AU would lose 2 conference games, I would pull for SC. However, if the rednecks are going to Atlanta, my selfishness wants them to be unbeaten. I almost want them to win a MNC. I would love nothing more than for them to be unbeaten, defending MNC on Oct. 20 of next year (388 days, 20 hours, 12 min, 46 sec) so we can repay the favor from '04.
If AUB were to go to the SECCG I want them to be undefeated as well, but there is a lot of football yet to be played. I still think that LSU is a better team and I will root for all circumstances that will allow LSU to advance in the SEC standings.
The USC O-line features two freshmen and a converted DL. Their D-line is reasonably good at pass rush, but is suspect against the run and has little depth. If you subscribe to the philosophy that games like these are won in the trenches, then it should be Auburn in a walkover. But ........ SEC road wins are difficult to come by, and Spurrier is called the "evil genius" for a good reason. Kenny Irons finally comes home for dinner. Auburn 31- South Carolina 10 Tigers in the 4-3 Defensive Alignment
A Cock win puts LSU closer to the Western Championship but then I'd question whether the team that beat us is really that good. I want them to be really that good.
