Shep played in the scrimmage.

He said the day was particularly productive for quarterback Jordan Jefferson.
"He's improving every day," Miles said. "He's going to be a good quarterback. It's just he needs work to do. He's young.
(He needs) experience. It's the greatest cure. Put him in the game let him feel it, let him see it, try to simulate it in practice. We did some ones vs. ones and that was really good for him."

There were officials on hand to “look at onsides alignments” among other things. LSU was flagged five times for offsides against Florida.

“We got a lot of work done (Thursday),” Miles said. “We kind of looked at some things, some game plan, things we want to work on within our own system.”

The scrimmage also featured a handful of younger players who are slated for redshirts getting action. Miles said freshman running back Michael Ford “made a couple of nice plays” and also mentioned defensive end Sam Montgomery.
