Of course this is the pre-cut list, but pretty impressive according to the ESPN listing. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/college?letter=l LSU Joseph Addai Running Back Indianapolis Colts Eric Alexander Linebacker New England Patriots Kenderick Allen Defensive Tackle Green Bay Packers Josh Booty Quarterback Oakland Raiders Dwayne Bowe Wide Receiver Kansas City Chiefs Bennie Brazell Wide Receiver Cincinnati Bengals Ryan Clark Safety Pittsburgh Steelers Michael Clayton Wide Receiver Tampa Bay Buccaneers Travis Daniels Cornerback Miami Dolphins Craig Davis Wide Receiver San Diego Chargers Eric Edwards Tight End Washington Redskins Alan Faneca Offensive Guard Pittsburgh Steelers Kevin Faulk Running Back New England Patriots Randall Gay Cornerback New England Patriots Jarvis Green Defensive End New England Patriots Skyler Green Wide Receiver Cincinnati Bengals Devery Henderson Wide Receiver New Orleans Saints Marquise Hill Defensive End New England Patriots Bradie James Linebacker Dallas Cowboys Tory James Cornerback New England Patriots Donnie Jones Punter St. Louis Rams Eddie Kennison Wide Receiver Kansas City Chiefs LaRon Landry Safety Washington Redskins Chad Lavalais Defensive Tackle Carolina Panthers Nate Livings Offensive Tackle Cincinnati Bengals Kevin Mawae Center Tennessee Titans Todd McClure Center Atlanta Falcons Anthony McFarland Defensive Tackle Indianapolis Colts Rudy Niswanger Center Kansas City Chiefs Melvin Oliver Defensive End San Francisco 49ers Stephen Peterman Offensive Guard Detroit Lions Chase Pittman Defensive End Cleveland Browns Ronnie Prude Cornerback Baltimore Ravens Marcus Randall Linebacker Green Bay Packers Josh Reed Wide Receiver Buffalo Bills Mark Roman Safety San Francisco 49ers Robert Royal Tight End Buffalo Bills JaMarcus Russell Quarterback Oakland Raiders Marcus Spears Defensive End Dallas Cowboys LaBrandon Toefield Running Back Jacksonville Jaguars Cameron Vaughn Linebacker Denver Broncos Corey Webster Cornerback New York Giants Andrew Whitworth Offensive Guard Cincinnati Bengals Ben Wilkerson Center Cincinnati Bengals Domanick Williams Running Back Houston Texans Kyle Williams Defensive Tackle Buffalo Bills Claude Wroten Defensive Tackle St. Louis Rams
After further review, their are only 5 NFL teams out of 32 that do not have former LSU tigers. Jets Eagles Bears Vikings Cardinals
I didn't check the link, but you list Marcus Randal at Linebacker for GB. Is that the same guy that was the qb after Mauk? Did really become a linebacker?
Does anyone know what college team has the most? With 40+ players in the NFL we have got to be way up there if not the top, we have to be among the top few.
Went straight to Miami. At 55, I'd be surprised if anyone else has more but it's your turn to count. Edit: Oops. Make that aOSU at 56.
He was converted to safety by Tennessee straight out of college. I haven't really been keeping track but I guess he has moved to LB after being cut by Tennessee last year.
Dang, great minds and all that... I was doing the same thing. Michigan was also up there... thought USC might break 50 also, but they were in the 40's somewhere. I know the Hawkeyes had 32 players on rosters last fall... thought I'd throw that in... as I know it was on all of your minds:wink: .
I was going to look at Meatchicken but I knew aOSU had them beat. Interesting thing about SC, we had 11 picks last year and have had 30 over the last 5 years under PC. Have to go back to 1983 to find another year where SC had 11 picks. A very long drought indeed. Most ever was 15 in 1953. 32 for Iowa is impressive. :thumb: NFL rosters are filled with guys that weren't necessarily big stars but just excellent football players. O and D Lineman often come from that part of the country..........all that cornfed beef!
