After all is said and done, last night's game was one of the most exciting I've seen in a long time. This was just the type of game our team needed: A tough team on horrible field conditions and trailing for most of the game, and still find a way to win. Arkansas State will be a great tune-up for our team. I think we'll see all three quarterbacks play. I've been a Marcus Randall supporter since 2002, but I think he just lost his job. But anyway, come Sept 12, LSU will be 2-0 and still ranked in the Top 5. I don't know about ya'll, but I don't see any problem with this. Look out Auburn, we're coming for you!!
I think the Indians are going to be in for a LONG night. Nick is sure to have a hard week of practice and I don't think we'll see anymore performances like last night when it appeared the players just listened to Las Vegas and took the 19 point win for granted. We got pushed around and beaten up all night by a team that simply wanted it more. Granted the boys found a way to pull out the W, but we in no way earned that W from start to finish. We'll have our act together and take ASU to the woodshed.
Closing the book... I couldn't agree more. Our focus now should be on Arkansas State. There is no other... Just Arkansas State. One game at a time, fellas.... :helmet: :champs: :helmet:
The team's focus should be on Arkansas State. Our focus can be whatever we want it to be. It's just one day after as ugly a win as I've ever seen. I think we can talk about why a little bit more.
I agree I think Saban will make the neccesary adjustments, I'm optimistic, however I also know that if something doesn't change, ARK ST may "tune" us up.
I go with JSracing on this one, we can't expect Arkansas St. to be a pushover for us to practice on. This is the team we are preparing for, not Auburn. If things don't change for this game, Arkansas St. could win or atleast come close. That being said, if the necessary things do change, I would love to be able to get Flynn in the game and see what he's made of. However, I think we should leave the Auburn starter in for almost the entire game if not the entire to work out all the kinks and timing w/ receivers & such.
You are overestimating the Indians. They are one of the worst teams in D1A. The game will be a lot more lopsided than it might have been if it hadn't been for last nights scare. Saban will kick some butts this week in practice and the team will be as ready to play as if they were playing Auburn or Georgia. Last nights game is the worst thing that could have happened to AR State.
I'm not "overestimating" anybody. I hope we blow them away and we probably will. On any given day my friend, on any given day. I remember an LSU team years ago that was supposed to blow RICE away also. like they did every year. They didn't. All I'm saying is we can't go in EXPECTING to win. THAT"S part of the problem.
