Season is over, nothing we can do about it. Whoever Skip thinks is qualified enough to coach LSU football, I will support. This is Skip's first hire, give him some leaway. Even if Skip were to hire Mike Archer, Gerry Dinardo or whatever loser he finds. I will still pull for my Tigers just as hard as I did in '01, '02, '03, and '04. Besides, maybe the best candidate out there, isn't the best candidate for LSU. Just let Skip Bertman, winner of 5 CWS, interview and decide... if in 5 years that coach has sucked it up, then maybe PEOPLE can say something, but until then, just support LSU whole heartidly and STFU about sh t you don't understand.
I have also said that if Smoke can't win a game in the CWS this year, its time to look for a new coach. 0 for 2 did I miss Les signing the contract ?????
Different coaches, different Offense... would take anyone some time to institute their program... he may do it next year and win a NC, it may take him 2 years like it took Saban... we all forget that even with a team that won the SEC in '01... Saban lost to UAB the year before... so talent has always been here... instituting a program takes time.
WHO NEEDS TO WIN... we haven't even hired a f cking coach... rumor has it anyone could be hired at this point.... Del Rio still has to be interviewed on Monday... jeezus
Haha... so lemme get this straight... LSU new head coach = win immediatly or off with your head... ok I wil. agree
2 or more losses is a non success, only team that should give us a run is Bama if Croyle is still healthy or Tennessee if Clausen or Ainge are playing well... i wouldn't mind one loss. Call it growing pains.
Hey, anybody can win with someone else's talent in the first season. The trick is being able to recruit as well as coach and sustain that success beyond the first couple of years after the stud coach has left the building.. Some can--Larry Coker---some can't---Mike Archer. Only time will tell. By the way, the talent has *not* "always been there". I can name a hell of a football team consisting of Louisiana-born talent that, during the 90s alone, went to school away from Baton Rouge: Warrick Dunn, Ed Reed, Leroy Hoard...on and on and on. Gotta lock up the state by recruiting well and *winning*, else someone else will poach all that talent away.
