I am quite amazed and disheartened at how much negativity is being displayed towards our Tigers after last night's victory. I am not sure about everyone else, but I want W's, not style points, not blowouts, not huge stats.....just W's. In case you have all forgotten, let's recap a few things you should be proud of:

    1. We are 21 - 3 over our last 2 years, including a national championship.
    2. We have won 5 in a row.
    3. We went undefeated at Tiger Stadium this year for the first time since 1972.
    4. We are an elite college football program, no longer an inconsistant wannabe.
    5. We have one of the 5 best coaches in the nation.

So, remember all these things before you go off on how we will not beat Arkansas or whatever team we get in a bowl game. I, for one, think we will be 23 - 3 going into the 2005 season, and ranked in the Top 10 to start the season.

The future is bright everyone, why don't you all catch a glimpse and enjoy!

This is exactly what I was thinking last night. While the wins haven't been pretty they have been WINS. A few years ago, a "down" year like this would have brought a 3-8 record. The won-lost record the last two years under Saban has been Spurrieresque. This team finds a QB and look out SEC. I'm proud of how the Tigers have fought back week after week and refused to accept defeat. :geaux: :champs:

I pretty much agree with you, we will beat Arkansas no doubt but the bowl game coming up worries me.
Of course it depends on who we will play but then again we just did get by teams like
    Troy and Ole Miss.

Of course there was the year, 93 when Bama won the championship with an offense a
little better than ours, maybe not much.

QB and offensive line has killed us all year, better get some recruits at these positons
    because we will need them.

Well after all my ranting I did last night, I did make a final post about the fact that the most important thing this team is doing is posting "W"s, as ugly as they have gotten, and that's a good thing to build on in '05.

This team really does need to finish the year off with a big win over Arky and an even bigger bowl win over Iowa or UT. But looking at the progression of the season, there is no way anyone can have any confidence that LSU could beat either an Iowa or UT. Iowa is playing as good a ball as anyone in the country right now and UT has been solid all year long. LSU has not played anyone of that caliber since Georgia, so it remains to be seen how we react to adversity from such a contest.

Looks like we need another miracle performance out of Randall like he did against Florida to pull out a victory in our Bowl game. Maybe he's got one more in him.

Good post, I think you're right. We are a good Fb team.

I think though you might be confussing some of the posts that are a genuine attempt to analyze and best wishes and concerns that LSU becomes even better, for negativity. I know I am VERY positive about our future, but I am not blind I do have a concern or two. that being said it is definately time to wave the Tiger Rag! :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux:

I don't think the rants are all that bad. It isn't that they don't think the wins weren't important, its that they have written off this season. They want to be in the hunt for the big prize (don't we all?) and are looking at the games to get an idea of how we will preform next year when we are back in the hunt. I think we have played ok this year but far under our potential. I'm not ready to ridicule our players but I would have liked to have seen some kind of progression during the season for our unexperienced players and I really don't think I have. I think most of the people talking bad about our performance feel the same way. But, I think they wrote off this season long ago and just chalked it up to experience (which they now feel our players didn't do much with). I do think complacency and work ethic played a big part in our struggles this year and hope our players mature a lot before next fall. So, let them rant, I can understand it but I cant condone it.

If your tee shot skips off the water, bounces off a tree and goes into the hole, it's still a hole in one.

Sounds like Sabanfan goes into the water a lot with his tee shots and iron play.

    The thing is...

Well i guess the thing is we are not going to win a national championship every year... and although we were blown out by georgia... they had the big time revenge factor there after what we did to them last year... and when i see people bitching that we lost our only two games all season to two top 10 schools it lets me know that we have achieved that next level of greatness. You are not gonna blow everyone out... its just not going to happen that way... hell even ole miss... its a rivalry game for everyone who thought we would blow them out... look at alabama auburn... that game was close for a long time why??? its a rivalry game it depends on the underdog and how long they can hold on to that emotion... We pull out the W because we are a good team... we have a good defense... and our offense is good... we cant blame everything on the qbs either... the recievers are dropping balls that hit them in the hands although i know jamarcus threw a few behind the players and an int... he has to work on his vision... that is his biggest fall back... something that will only come with time... so lay off him... we got arkansas this week yet another rivalry... KOC-RPH will be in attendence however small... good luck to all who are travelling to the $hith*le... and :geaux:

I don't think you got it quite right. I think most people here perceived as negative are frustrated that this team is regressing, not progressing. That's the thing that alarms me. You think we should still be missing 2 field goals in a ball game? You think our future stud QB should look even more lost out on the field in game #10, even much more so than in that brilliant first game he had against OSU? Sounds like serious coaching problems going on there. All the missed tackles and missed assignments on defense, with such a veteran group of guys is totally perplexing as well. Makes absolutely no sense. And we all know Saban is the best defensive mind out there in college football today.

This team has an excellent chance at going undefeated next year, with our favorable schedule (with no SEC team looking to be very dominant as well), and it's frustrating to think we are going into next season with more questions unanswered than we had coming into this year.

That's it in a nutshell. A bloody big nutshell.
