I just saw it on ESPN. He signed a one year contract with the Chicago Cubs.

At this very moment the talking heads on local radio in OKC are bashing Todd Walker for signing with the Cubs. Called him an absolute moron for leaving the Red Sox, who by the way didn't want him after he helped get them to the postseason.

Amazing that the local sports jockeys couldn't figure that one out.

If the OU coaches think the same way OU doesn't have a prayer.

    Finally! Another LSU/Red Sox fan!

Walker filed for Free Agency--which means that Boston could not tender him a contract until March 1st. I believe that Walker thought he would make around the 2 million dollar per year range, thought the Sox wouldn't be able to pay him with Nomar's contract running out after next season, as well as re-signing DLowe, Varitek, and Pedro.

HOwever, I'm almost positive that he would have received a contract from the Sox for around the same figure that he received from the Cubs.

I think Walker's plan backfired on him a bit. I believe he thought that many other teams would take notice of his offensive output in the postseason and shell him out some big money. But, I think the Cubs were the only team with postseason expectations--outside of Boston.
