That'll be on SportsCenter tomorrow (Wednesday) but judging from the "tease" it will include Tennessee, Notre Dame and (gasp ) Oklahoma. To his credit, he did not include Nebraska among the sleepers for this season. Those were Texas A&M, Bama, FSU, Penn State and Purdue. Penn State, because they'll win 6 games and don't have a test until OSU in game 5. Purdue because they don't have to play either the Buckeyes or Michigan. In his USC preview, he gave them the nod despite several key defensive losses due to a "palatable" schedule. Meanwhile, LSU has to play Tennessee, Auburn, Florida and Alabama. What I'm driving at is that it really takes a special SEC team to have a shot at the NC... and, as Auburn showed last season, even that may not be enough.
How many teams have gone undefeated in the SEC since say 92? 2,3 ? Like SabanFan says, it's very hard to go undefeated in the SEC and people need to understand no matter how much talent we have a loss or two very well could happen this year. If not and we do go undefeated LSU will play for the National Title, we would not be left out like Aburnt......at least I don't think so.
It's almost like the kiss of death. Has Trev ever gotten anything right in his whole entire life? I mean what, he picks UGA to take us to the woodshed not once but twice in the same season, realizes how bad he screwed up, and is all of a sudden tooting our horn? Don't blame me if I am somewhat uneased by this.
per Golden Tiger: "How many teams have gone undefeated in the SEC since say 92? 2,3 ?" I believe the answer is 3. Bama('92), Tennessee('98) & Auburn('04).
Trev has been very right on a LOT of things. That UGA/LSU prediction is always blown out of proportion. He picked Auburn to flop in 2003. He picked UGA to win the East in 2002 and 2003. He picked LSU to win the West in 2004 (not right but IMO a good choice):hihi:
